Nice pieces include songs like Winter Room or also the Prairie Wedding (my favourite so far
).
Taken another listen to Prairie Wedding, and I really like it too.

I think that's a question which need not, maybe even must not be asked.
The important question is: Does it suit the game and its atmosphere?
Why must not be asked? I'm not saying everything MUST sounds like TTD, but there have been a great number of complaints from individuals who are not happy with OpenMSX because it doesn't sound enough like the old TTD sound, which I can understand to a small degree. But, my opinion is only my opinion, and I certainly won't hold others to my opinion when it comes to getting this finished up.

Regardless of OpenMSX (in which topic we currently are), it's of course always possible to create another music set that focuses on other music styles.
Totally. Seeing the amount of songs you composed / performed, this is even a very realistic option.
Indeed! In fact, sometime this week I will be wrapping up my Traditional Holiday Songs pack and getting it out. Was hoping to hear back from a few more artists, but nothing so far. I'll go with what I have.
ajax wrote:Okay gentlemen thanks for the feedback, glad you like at least some of the songs. How many are you looking to replace on the main soundtrack? I really have no preference on which songs you choose, just making sure you heard it (:
I don't think there's any set number, but if there are any songs that should be replaced, I'd say they'd probably be some of the ones from Jim Redfarm. They were pretty much dumped in just to fill out all 31 slots, after another user attempted to submit them as their own. My personal preference is to encourage donations that come directly from the community. (I'm not saying Jim Redfarm's work isn't good enough - indeed, his works could be an entire music pack of its own IMO. But, Jim wasn't a member of the community, either, his work was thrust upon us.)

I just wanted to help out on the main soundtrack because OTTD is a dignified project in my opinion. All of these songs will already be in my own browser games at any rate (there are no copyright issues). If OTTD ever features more than 31 songs definitely contact me and i'll be glad to contribute more.
And your contributions are VERY welcome!!!! After your inclusions, and maybe some follow-up from some contributors we've not heard from in awhile to see if they're interested in finishing up a few things, we'll put version 1.0 in the can and call it a day.
ajax wrote:Here is my last batch, I won't post any more videos here unless specifically requested. I think there is a fair amount to choose from so far. Let me know which ones you decide on as a community and i'll post the midi files. If you want to hear more let me know, i'm sure i can find plenty more completed songs that may fit the game.
Wow, absolutely amazing what you turn out. Going through the new ones, I like Cold City very much, and going back through the others you posted I like Pattaya Addict (maybe rename it to OpenTTD Addict???
)
So, summary of what I really, really dig so far, in order of preference:
Fast Lane Downtown,
Baby K,
Cold City,
Pattaya Addict,
Prairie Wedding,
She's Always Sensual,
Winter Room. If all of those made it in, I think that would be a significant contribution.
