Town density

Post by qiray »

Hello everyone!

Is there any way to set towns' density in OpenTTD 1.8.0? I didn't find this setting anywhere :-(

Hello,

By default towns have zones (ranging from 0-5).
Zone 0 is rural.
Zone 1 is town borders.
Etc.
Zone 5 is city center, with towers and all.

Those zones are all included in each town (or almost).
Now let's say...
If you want to increase town density, like you say, you have to make it grow faster.
Disable town road construction in settings and set up a bus service within the town.
Set town growth to "very fast" if you want.
Build a big road network for the town once you have money, and don't forget to setup train services.
Voilà. The town will build buildings itself. If you want to expand it further, place roads. Note houses will only be generated on tiles adjacent to a full road tile (on-road bus stops count as a full road tile, too).

There is number of towns setting that is almost the same as towns density.

Check wikipage about game creation. There setting called 'No of towns'. You can even set exact number of towns (for example 3)
