Poll: TTS' new name

Post by TBOT »

Having quite some suggestions I decided to make the poll, the name with the most votes will most likely be the new name.
I filtered out the names I considered to be good and appropriate.

My personal vote goes out to 'Transport Unlimited', but it's the general public (read: you) that may decide on the final choice.

Note: When you vote 'Other', please post the suggestion you would vote for here.

I agree - it shows the game's roots and tells you that it's better that the original.

In favor of TU...

It's literally unlimited since it's open source (right?) and thus you can do with it whatever you want :]

The first option is the best, but written as Transport (Un)Ltd, maybe with the (un) in a smaller font.

Looks like TTU wins. It's my vote too.

Oh, and call it TTU, as it shows the roots (Transport Unlimited)

I dunno... Transport Unlimited sounds a bit cheesy... but it's the best of the names we've heard so far. :)

TUC (Transport Unlimited Company)

Post by pepecito »

TUC
(for Transport Unlimited Company) is my suggestion (the previous one i made was T&C for Trains and Company)
TUC
is easy to remember and to pronunce because no spelling is necessary, but just one word TUC

I voted Transport (Un)Ltd. What else could I've done as the creator  . But I prefer it written the same was I and Arathorn said it. I think you can make a nice logo out of it: a train heading towards a station with a HQ in the background; HQ neon sign says: Transport (Un)Ltd.

Whea does IKEA suddenly come to mind?

TU it has to be. (TM seems a little odd, and you're not allowed to call it Open Tycoon :P) Though I'd have prefered if it was "TTSD - The Game With No Acronym" :)

Because it implies it is Open, which (it seems) only comes at the release and not in development. There is an exception to every rule. For this rule, the exception already exists (namely the Open Software Federation, which produces closed standards for closed software). I've already explained this one before.

I go for T(T)U, I think it relates to tt but, it doesn't sound like it to much. I quite like the name as well. Actually, I really like it.

I hope your project goes well.

The final decision is made.

Transport Unlimited (abbreviated as TTU) it will be. The change will happen somewhere in the coming weeks (there are some things we have to discuss).
