UK Style Stations (GRF)

Post by pbx2 »

So, I have been working on some sorta random things for this station set and I have come up with a good set of graphics so far, More to come :)

Yes, I do very well know of the error in scaling up, It's not important.

They are not all separate station tiles, rather they are a combined fashion, this can prevent large gaps of bare platform or allows shorter stations with all the little decorations that you would want (A problem I had with the Dutch Stations way of doing this)

A coder is yet to be found but if you are interested in helping you are very welcome, This can include graphics too.

This is a list of what is planned and done on the graphics side:

If you have any ideas for it, Let me know, Good ideas are well welcome.

Thanks.

An alternative idea could be to make the items come in pairs. That would solve the gap problem. But various lengths of platforms with preset configurations is also quite good idea.

Nice!

However, I think this thread belongs better in the Graphics Development section... (moderators?)

A fantastic start! Welcome.

I've moved your thread to the graphics development section, where more people will see it. This will give you a chance to get some feedback.

I like the departure boards - some of your other items are also nice but some appear a little blocky. You can fix that by using a murkier shade.

Still though, welcome aboard - really intrigued to see what you bring.

Have a look for "Alexandra Palace" and "UK stations v0.0.4" which have been with us for a long time. The stations grf has platforms, whilst the Ally Pally grf has a selection of station buildings, including KX and Cardiff Central. Sadly the person is no longer active so no further development happens. There are some really cool British themed things in the graphics section - I'll let you discover these for yourself.

This could be due to the way I scaled the image.

Doing a great job on your stations ..

Many Australian stations where designed on English ones so if you see any in my AuzStations sets you like for your project, feel free to use and change if need.

Suburban and city stations here have the yellow line too, but I haven't got around yet to making a platform set with those lines yet.

Keep at it.

Welcome .. if you see any you like and want the sprite let me know.

It good looking at other peoples work as can get ideas from what they done. That how I got started in all of my projects. Starting using other ideas to practice with then change it to how I want.

Yeah I had a look at multiple station sets and planned what I want for my station set.
Currently all i want from your station set is all the awning variants since i can put them to good use for lots of different stations in the UK, Your island station tiles and the station building tiles, All of which can be modified to style the UK a bit better ;)

Thanks in advance.

Shall bundle some up for you and send. Most likely be tomorrow as late here now and I about to go dream world.

Do you want the rusty awning roofs too? If your doing modern platforms in use these days, not sure if you be anting those.

Cheers pal

Yes please, I'll be doing the majority of the styles for the set, They could fit in well with outdated/older stations.
