It is going to be multiple city sets based on California.

Different type of buildings (skyscrapers, town buildings, apartment buildings, family buildings etc) will be released in separate sets.

So far I have only skyscrapers for Los Angeles and San Francisco (what I try to release next).

These are unpolished preview releases and the main intent is to simply get them out.

This is the second part of the set of sets and it contains skyscrapers found in San Francisco. About dozen were replaced by place holders composed of town buildings from an other SF set. These place holders are temporary and will be replaced by skyscrapers when the set develops.

Those look great!!!

But, shouldnt the names of the GRFs be *-skyscraper-set.grf, rather than *-skyscrapper-set.grf ? ;-)

Haha! Yes they should. As should individual source nml files. The power of single mistake and copy paste.

Will be fixed in the next release. :)

Great job. A big thank you :)) . You plan to add to these sets: 1. private homes, 2. different buildings - shops, cafes, trade and other 4. parks, plazas, squares ? In each city, with skyscrapers, there are other interesting buildings. As I recall, no one has previously not created separate sets of different buildings located in the United States. So just my advice. And the second question - what do you plan to add?

Thanks! There is no plan for the parks and plazas (existing sets should do) and I do not plan to add special buildings i.e. schools, hospitals etc (but I do not mind contributions, except they have to fit general style and have compatible licence).

The plan is to add town buildings (lower level buildings to fit in between skyscrapers), apartment buildings and family homes. There will be also probably something more industrial like (i.e ware houses) and perhaps some of the notable buildings specific to the area.

Thanks for the reply. Good ideas for further implementation. I'll be waiting :)) .
For example, in Los Angeles a lot of different private homes of famous people. In San Francisco I like houses on the hills (as was done in GTA San Andreas), as well as many other buildings. In General good luck and success with your future endeavors!

And project 1000 building set will develop further? If I remember correctly - it also seems to set the city's buildings. Correct me if not correct write.

Yes that one is in the development too. In principle you can take that one as a general theme - get 1000 buildings out - and California set is part of it. 1000 building set will be for fictional buildings or for ones that are converted from object sets etc. I will restructure it similarly - separate sets for skyscrapers etc.

Hey there, I am curious if you are still working on making and releasing these GRF sets. I would LOVE to use them, but it seems this thread went dormant pretty swiftly, so I wanted to inquire on it.

Hi TheCriminalViolin,

I am not working on these sets. But you can use them (by downloading and installing grf files). I do not plan to change the order of the buildings but it is possible that in some future version I may replace some of the SF lower buildings with skyscrapers. That was at least the initial plan.

You may also alter these sets and recompile them because I have included the source code of the set (including gimp files) under condition that when you redistribute your changed set, you too have to also provide source of it.

If you have any further questions or suggestions then feel free to ask or tell them. Have fun!
