Is this because it's not implemented yet? Or is it a bug?
I was originally going to add more industries to v1, but that never happened. Extended was added to the description so I didn't have to add it later. My ambitions for v2 are bigger, but I'll need to finish v2.0 first, which will be roughly the same size as v1.
JacobD88 wrote: 15 Sep 2021 11:15 Additionally, with DPRK Tracks - Can the start date for the earliest tracks be made earlier? Sometimes I use the DPRK Trains alongside the xUSSR set or other sets from East Asia which tend to have stuff from the mid 1800s
I was unable to reproduce this bug. I'm able to use the earliest tracks as soon as I have trains for them.
There's a parameter to make all railtypes available from the start, which should work.

I'm currently working on some freight stuff for the DPRK Trains and Road vehicle sets, which I'll release before DPRK Industry v2, but we'll see when I get to that. I'm fairly busy with other stuff as well.
No pics no clicks. Seriously.

Thanks for the prompt response

For the Tracks bug - the first xUSSR train is in 1873 but i do not seem to be able to get the tracks to appear until 1900

GRF and Parameter list attached below to help with replicating as it will give you my settings for each GRF too

Don't feel any need to rush on my behalf - I recognise development and Real-Life takes precedent (I mean I left these forums for the best part of a decade because of other commitments - so never feel pressured :) )

I was unable to reproduce this bug. I'm able to use the earliest tracks as soon as I have trains for them.
There's a parameter to make all railtypes available from the start, which should work.
At least the xUSSR version available on Bananas defines its own railtypes. Both the DPRK track set and the xUSSR GRFs are trying to replace the default rails (both unelectrified and electrified) but for some reason the xUSSR version always seems to “win” here for me, and one gets the 60km/h one from xUSSR as “base rail” (instead of DPRK's 80km/h branch) regardless of the order in which the GRFs are listed in the configuration window

As apcd said, xUSSR is pretty much its own thing. They have their own tracktypes, and besides, their trains are broad gauge and wouldn't work anyway afaik

I run with xUSSR tracks disabled by the parameters, so the tracks available are DPRK

If I remove the xUSSR set, and use something like UKRS alongside the DPRK tracks - again, nothing before 1900 even though trains are available before the DPRK trains at the start of the 1900s

It's most odd; until that first DPRK train arrives 1899-1900 i just don't seem to be able to get DPRK tracks earlier than that particular train arriving regardless of the availability in other sets

As to xUSSR - the engines appear on the DPRK standard gauge track lists no problem once they are available in 1899-1900 (presumably because I have xUSSR tracks disabled so they get moved on to standard gauge)

EDIT: resolved, I need to disable xUSSR tracks in the xUSSR set AND move the xUSSR GRF below the DPRK tracks AND the DPRK trains in the list - this way, DPRK stuff is the priority in GRF order and the xUSSR subservient to it

If I put the xUSSR set below, and still have it's tracks enabled, the DPRK trains still take priority when working start dates for tracks so even though the xUSSR trains are available earlier, the DPRK tracks are not made available for it as the DPRK set sees that the xUSSR set has it's own tracks enabled so adds none - even though the xUSSR will not add them because DPRK Tracks are higher in the list

It is time for another freight update. I've added a bunch of goodies, and I hope you'll like them. With this, we now have complete FIRS compatibility, and I've almost entirely futureproofed the trainset for anything I have planned for DPRK industry v2.

We now have houses as objects! The code generation code was getting a bit cumbersome so no overlap tiles, sadly.

Hey there, I'm new to this mod and to OTTD. Does anyone know of any good playthroughs for this set so that I can... yanno... make money?

Thanks!

Making money with the DPRK trainset is the same as making money with any trainset. I don't know of any gameplay footage with it.

If you're new to the game I recommend watching Timberwolf's tutorial. I'd also say it's easier to get into the game if you don't use NewGRFs for your first few playthroughs, but it should be fine.

동무, 안녕하십니까?
This must be one of the most weirdly-specific mods I've seen in OpenTTD so far, been a big fan so far. Do you have any recommended mods to pair with it that fit the spirit?
How have you been going about researching all the locomotive info and specifications?
Cheers!

Thanks. I'm not sure what I'd recommend. Maybe STGFX or xUSSR.

Most details come from Wikipedia, though I do sometimes come across scans of magazines with details. I like how western trains usually have a max speed just barely above the rated speed (140 vs 160km/h for example), but those magazines may have max 120, rated 40 for some locs, because they're unable to test much higher speeds.

Hey all! It is time for a public service announcement.

Just now I managed to cause a JGR server to crash real hard using the North Korean Aviation Set. I have been able to figure out why, and how to prevent it.
In NKAviation, the airports do not have any tiles in the corner. Ideal for if you want to put a train station there, for example. But let's say you want to remove the airport. On the server I was playing, I had this exact problem, but there was a train stopped on one of the corner tiles. I could destroy the airport, but this took the station with it. The train, now trackless, instantly crashed the game the moment I did anything to update it or the tile it was on.
Here's a recreation of something you SHOULD NOT DO, as it will crash the game.

So here's the public service announcement:
When you have vehicles in the corner tiles of an airport, move them out of there before you destroy the airport, lest you crash the game. This is the case for OpenGFX+ Airports as well.
This does not appear to be a problem in the basegame.

I will report this to JGR, in the meantime, be careful.

It's been a while but I couldn't just leave this NewGRF alone.
Thanks to Emperor Jake for reporting some bugs and helping rebalance the steam locomotives.

I wanted to use the signals without using the trackset because I liked the snow awareness aspect. Thanks to a recent addition to JGR's patch pack, we can have signaltypes. This doesn't add anything fancy though, and may not be necessary if you're using the DPRK Track set, though that may not necessarily be true.

Please note you will need to use JGR's patch pack for this to work.
