CREDITS

Very grateful for the help from Quast65 who taught me to code in NFO for these stations.

Much credit also goes to the makers of the following NewGRF files as I used some of their ideas and graphics.

Dutch Station Sets
Industrial Stations Renewal (ISR)
OpenGFX+Landscape GRF
Silverx50's Workshop
PikkaBird for use of the Level Crossing Gates in his Finescale standard gauge and 3rd rail set.

Throughout the following pages in this forums you will find updated versions of work I am doing.

PLEASE NOTE: Each new version might conflict with previous versions so any games you have saved might not work successfully with the next version. Thats because some new additions also need to me to change IDS of some previous items try keep things in order.

Hope you enjoy

Cheers Garry

Made some more country platforms .. previous ones are low platforms .. these ones are normal height.

Not sure what to do about the Normal type platforms on the left .. should they also have the white picket fence? That will mean the fence will also go down the middle of the island section.

No it doesnt have to, look good at the graphics template I sent you.
There are separate graphics for the middlesections, you can draw fenceless platforms in there, so you get fences only on outsides.
What are those red things by the way?

Regarding the stations in the picture of your first post, it looks like the middle one has slopes all around (except on the railside ofcourse), right? If that is the case, then I think placing benches on those slopes is a bit strange, people may tumble over ;-)

I'll have a look at it tomorrow when minds fresh again :)

Suppose to be luggage and parcel trolleys. :)

Never thought of that .. maybe I should turn them around so people will slide off them .. better still I will remove them.

Cheers pal

When I issue the next upgrade to these there will be 3 files.

EDIT May 21: Change of ideas .. will not be making the 3 sets of files as most likely not need them .. the one could be enough room for what I want to add. If I run out of room will consider the idea of extra files.

So will just be the one file:

auzstations_1_v001 - called "Australian Stations, Part 1, Version 001:

Has the following:

Country Platforms Low Level - gravel platform surface
Country Platforms Normal Level - Asphalt and gravel platform surface

Goods Wooden Platforms
Loading Bank Platforms
Wool Dump Platforms

Water Tanks
Water Columns

I'm designing the Infrastructure to go at the end of a platform, and by telling a loco hauled train to go to far end of platform it should stop at the Infrastructure and the carriages should all be on the platform.

After I make a set of Asphalt platforms .. some with Awnings, will make the next file available here.

Will not release on Bananas until I do some non-track tiles. (Station buildings).

Cheers

Made a few changes to previous platforms by removing the fences. Will make new fences using non-track tiles and do something like the Dutch Stations. So can use either fences or hedges. But I make mine a bit different to have 2 types white fences.

The ramps at end of platforms these been changed again. They are only a small piece .. this way you have choice if want to use ramps or not.

Both the platforms with gravel and asphalt surface and the new ones I done with just asphalt surface has these short ramp pieces.

Here is what the new Asphalt platforms will look like. I been making awnings which I hope will line up with the buildings when I make them. These awnings represent Galvanised corrugated Iron (unpainted) and intend to make 2 other colours .. red and a green .. this should cover all the colours used on station buildings in my State.

If all goes well might have a sample newgrf for you to try in a few days time.

They look very nice! These may end up in quite a few of my games!

And this is my go at adding it to my station set. (And just noticed I forgot the chimney .. drats).

If you like to test these here's the files.

Please remember these still in experimental stage. Future additions may conflict with saved games with previous issues.

Quast65 is kindly teaching me how to add Waypoints to the Station Sets.

I did some of the signal boxes from the AuzObjects_Rail set.

Also done some in reverse.

Thanks fellas for you compliments.

Still a lot to add and to learn ..

I just keep adding with what I learnt so far.

Had a look at Sydney terminal and decided to make some awnings like what is at that station. Some over stations have awnings very similar.

The station buildings and concourse belong to the Dutch Station Sets .. Whether I can be successful making all the buildings associated with Sydney .. time will tell.

Sydney used to have the Asphalt platform surface many moons ago .. but now it has a sandstone look brick tile type surface .. so will do a set of platforms as close as I can to that type of surface as well.

Cheers

Looking good, I intend to use these next time I'm in a Australian mood. Though at the moment NARS ADD-on Set is occupying my time.

I was wondering though, would it be possible to show people like the Canadian or Japanese station sets? It helps make a station seem more interesting and lively when theres many tiny people on the platforms (and its a handy way to see if a station is being used)

Your idea sounds good, but unfortunately animation is something don't know how to do.

Done 3 types of awnings.
Platforms with Awnings.png
Platforms with Awnings.png (18.38 KiB) Viewed 42753 times
1st awning the first I did .. It was designed to go with Stations already done in the AuzObject_Rail set. (Not sure if to keep these or use the other designs and just chance the green ends to a yellowish cream colour for country stations).
2nd Set is based on the Awnings on Sydney Station Platform No's 4 to I think same all the way to Platform 15 when station had asphalt platforms. (Platforms 1, 2 and 3 are different)
3rd set the same platforms as 2nd, but been resurfaced with what looks like sandstone brick tiles.

If any one wants to try what I done to date here the files. The Waypoints are included in the Station Set.

Some nice stuff over here! Keep it up

Thanks ISA .. appreciated.

I've improved the awnings to station sets and added another set of platforms, these being Asphalt Country Platforms without the white edging.

Renamed the ones with White lines along edge City Platforms.
Improved and new awnings.png
Improved and new awnings.png (113.62 KiB) Viewed 42700 times
Now have some rusty roof country platforms.

Awnings have extra 2 posts and recoloured them so see easier.

The new awnings with green ends also been improved, the ones on single platforms wasn't finished before, still needed some posts and also the backing.

Here the file if like to try.

Those who downloaded the previous lot .. I didn't change any IDs to this new lot so may or may not interfere with a saved game .. it the chance you will have to take.

NewStations was first . Already back in 2005 it featured loading states by showing 'people' on platforms.
GarryG wrote: Your idea sounds good, but unfortunately animation is something don't know how to do.
This is usually not done by 'animation", but by showing different sprites depending on amount of (passengers) waiting plus some randomisation. Something like this:

Code: Select all

// single track platform
def(1) cbset(little(0,0,8,16,24,32,40,48), lots(56))
def(2) cbset(little(0,8,16,24,32,40,48,56), lots(64))
def(3) cbset(little(0,16,24,32,40,48,56,64), lots(64))
def(4) randomcb(__roofs, ARRIVE,16, ref(1), ref(2), ref(2), ref(3))
regards
Michael

Quast65 been trying to learn how to do this with his station sets but having trouble with codes.

He'd appreciate the code you given here.

Thanks pal
