I think I finished the AuzTracks .. available over at the Australian Railways Track forum

I need to upgrade some stations in the station sets to go with the railway tracks.

Made these train Depots .. they match up with the Depots in the AuzTrack Set.

The half sheds are Path Aware and the Doors open when a train approaches .. Need to do some normal half sheds so you can line them up if want. These designed so can make the Depot for purchasing your trains and servicing them bigger and more realistic.

Other changes are to the brick platforms in all the Station Sets .. made the bricks a bit dirtier. I think clean bricks looked odd.

These be available soon.

Added a few more 1/2 buildings to the train sheds so they can be lined up with each other.

The sheds on left for no electric trains .. and has 2 different types of path aware doors .. set that swings outwards and a bit more modern for doors that roll up.

After testing these realise something I need to do with AuzTracks .. The siding set needs the crush ballast same as I have here in this pic with the non-track ground tiles so they will match up better.

Any how .. if like to have a try what I done to date here some files.

AuzWaypointsAndMoreFreightStations is separate as it has the sheds shown above and the ground tiles.

AuzstationsPt1to4 has Parts 1 to 4 zipped up together. Main changes in these are all the brick platforms .. the bricks facing the railway tracks made dirtier so look better.

Hi Garry, thanks for your beautiful work. However, I'm struggling to get the stations to work with the latest version of NuTracks, somehow the stations don't show the tracks, see accompanying screenshot. I tried re-ordering (putting NuTracks below and above the Station GRFs) but this didn't solve the problem.

Do you know the cause of this problem and a possible solution? Thank you.

Hi .. thanks kindly for what you told me.

I just had a look with NuTracks .. the problem is the grey rail heads in NuTracks hard to see with the grey ballast I used. Trains still run through the stations ok.

The ballast between platforms suppose to represent what we find at stations. .. to me looks better then grass when using the single siding platforms.

I been working on a AuzTrack set .. highly based on NuTracks that can be found at viewtopic.php?f=26&t=82691&start=20

I made the tops of the rails lighter colours so they can be seen at the stations. Still working on the AuzTracks and might be at least a week before they ready for proper release on Bananas.

It hard to find a good colour for the ballast as it usually grey and so are the tops of some rails.

I am removing the ballast between the rails.

I think they do look a lot better .. probably take me a week or more to change all platforms.

Do you use Normal Platforms from my sets :?:

There are 3 types of platforms that can be used in a game.

1: Normal, 2 Single Sided and 3. Island.

When coding sets am restricted to 255 items per set. To make a set of platforms for Normal, both sides of the Single Sided and the Island platforms takes 4 items.

I thinking if I could remove the Normal Platforms completely from all my sets and where possible use the Single Sided platforms to make Island platforms.

What you think of that idea?

I'll add a vote section and see what you would like.

EDIT: March 8 .. I see some people want the normal platforms to stay so I will abide by their wish and leave them in.

I have another idea about the ways. And you can add in the settings the option to select the railway tracks. I like to use all sets of Australian stations :D . But after the last changes in my game became poorly displayed tracks from xUSSR Railway set in the construction of stations. It doesn't look good on the outside. I understand that you are doing all this primarily for Australian Railways. But if you have the option, please add the option described above in my message :wink: .

When I first did the ballast in front of platforms I didn't know how to make my own railway tracks.

But I am now learning to make my own tracks with wide ballast.

So I can remove all the ballast from the stations now and you should get this result with my tracks.

The new station sets be ready in a few days if all goes well.

By removing the ballast from the platforms it should suit what ever track set you all use.

Thanks for the reply :D . I understood everything you wrote in the above message. Simply earlier versions of Australian stations supported any network of Railways without problems. In any case, I will then try to play with an Australian set of Railways and trains, and everything else that you have created for a more interesting game. All delay to start the game this way :) .

I about to release new set of AuzStations sets.

Will test and check for a few more days and if all seems ok will release in time for the weekend.

Changes made:

* Improved graphics to the brick edge platforms .. platform edge facing the railway tracks are more dirty looking from the soot and diesel fumes.

* The Overhead car parks changed the platform edges facing the tracks to brick since they are city platforms .. these can now be used with the City Bitumen Platforms.

* I been designing a Railway Track set with wide ballast so no longer need the wide ballast with the station platform sets .. so it has been removed.

* Some platforms been added with employees Walkways between platforms

* The wide ballast with Freight/Goods platforms has not been removed as in real the ballast is built up to track level so easy for vehicles and people to move easy.

* New version for the Waypoints if now called "AuzWaypointsAndMoreFreightStationsV3" as it contains Waypoints and more Freight Buildings and Platforms.

* Some Train Sheds been added with path way doors that will open and close when a train approaches. These buildings have been designed to also go with the Depots that are included in the AuzTracks.

Appreciate if you will test these for me as I have a habit of missing things and also other players often use these different to how I would use them.

Adding a few more platforms. These will be in Part 3 set as no room in Parts 1 and 2.

I putting luggage, mail and parcel trolleys on some platforms.

The Country stations with the gravel platforms only have 1 trolley as these was not bust stations.

The rest have 2 and more on them as being a lot busier.

Also making some suburban platforms based on photos I took of Fassifern and Dora Creek Stations.

Was hoping to have the Station sets ready to release on Bananas this weekend, but I found away to improve the Catenary poles on the stations.

I can make available what I did to date, but Part 3 and 4 will need a new version when I finish the catenary.

Not sure how long it will take me to make those changes but be at least a week maybe longer.

Any one like to add part 3 to their sets to what I done so far here the file.

It has the platforms with the luggage trolleys and the Suburban Platforms show above in previous posts.

Almost finished the Suburban Stations.

Added a few more waiting areas and been adding the poles for catenary.

To make room for the catenary suburban stations, I needed to move the overhead car parks from Part 4 to Part 3.

The Catenary will be in Part 4 with the other catenary for the City Platforms.

The 2 sets are here if you like to have a play. Not sure when these be on Bananas as still some things I like to do.

With what I have done to date I hope all the station sets will be available for Bananas on Friday evening as I will not get chance to do any more testing and coding till Friday due to other commitments next few days.

I'll just test a for a few days to make sure.

Parts 3 and 4 have major changes so if you have any saved games with these 2 sets these new additions might not work good with previous ones.

Part 3 now has all the platforms with catenary Poles.

There are 3 types:
Catenary Platforms Tile
Catenary Platforms Bitumen
Catenary Suburban Platforms

Part 4:

Has the Overhead Car parks and the suburban platforms.

Reasons for changing things around in these sets to allow room for future development.

If any one like to try what I done so far here the 2 files.

Please if you find an error let me know.

All 4 Station sets, the AuzFreightStations_v007 and AuzWaypoints which is AuzWaypointsAndMoreFreightStationsV3 have been uploaded to Bananas.

There is still more work I like to do to Parts 3 and 4 and also the AuzWaypointsAndMoreFreightStationsV3 but got no idea when I will be able to continue with these.

If find any problems or see some improvements I could make please let me know.

One project I been looking at lately is Underground stations .. at least fake ones. Similar to the over head car parks I done is Part 4, but with buildings or Parks covering the top so they have a underground appearance.

This is a test sample I tried .. under those terrace houses is a railway station. You can see a red colour EMU departing the station and about to dive into the tunnel.

I've been toying around with this idea as well. would be nice to have subway stations that blend into the environment.

another question, whatever happened to the large station you had been drawing?

The main problem is the overhead wires they stick into the side of the buildings because of their heights.

If I make the buildings higher which I did for the car parks, they don't blend in real good with the next level.

The gap between the station and the tunnel entrances is a problem and also to cover any signals or switches players might have either side of the stations.

That I think was Sydney Station .. ran into a problem with the graphics sprite I was using .. it got really slow to do anything and the file stops responding. So need to start it again.

I been thinking along that line too. If I start with Parks as they are low and if I can win with the overhead wires, than rest be easier.

Might need object sets to over come the problem with tunnel entrances, signals and switches ?( :roll:
