I changed the Trolley Bays so instead of looking like flowers they hope look like trolley handles.
Yeah, that works for me!
wonder if roof should be higher so people can fit under and we remove the billboard?
All up to you, I made those just to show an option of how they could look.
However, they are 5 pixels high before the roof starts (the one pixel high blue line is a beam so to say over a 4 pixel pillar), most people are drawn 4 or 5 pixels high in Openttd, so they should fit under them ;-)
I used the roof of your covered walkways, just recolored it so its better to see against the grey roads/parkingspots and also a bit different from the walkways.
But change them to your taste.
At least I already got a lot of ideas of how I would use/draw all of these things for the Dutch set :bow:

See the spaces marked 1-2-3? That's parking for people who order online and drive to the store and have their order loaded straight into the car.
Interesting!
Dont know if they are common in my part of the world, but can imagine them for example near an Ikea or a large store for buildingsupplies, keep the ideas coming!

I not seen any special parking like kamnet show in the image here in this country. These are ideas could add later once everything else is up and running.

I forgot to include a Taxi rank with yellow Taxis .. I think almost every country has a yellow taxi.

Maybe use some yellow cars and put a taxi signs on them and make taxi parking areas.
How would these look as Taxis.

There are a lot of picture errors in that pic, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's nothing. Look at the back of that white truck. Or the red car in the bottom line (probably just moving in or out as there are pieces of it in other positions ^^; ). That silver car in the middle row between two black ones seems to be missing its side. etc.

Can't make out what that could be either though :mrgreen:

No thanks to Google's horrible attempt at 3D renderings, those are uncovered cart corrals. Here's a close-up, along with a close-up of the covered type.

I'm experimenting on animating what I done do far by seeing if I can understand the coding to Pyoro Parking Lot as they are animated and look really good.

He has included some with Parking Meters too.

Hoping I can animate all I done similar to what he has done, but not just the parking lots but also all the other pieces with cars, trucks, buses and people.

My first try with the centre parking spaces works ok except for the parking meters they glitch with the cars in front of them.

See what I can do with them over the weekend.

I think I have figured out the coding that Pyoro used with his parking lot and plan to implement it into what I been doing.

Here is a sample.

The cars on South West side of the Walk way are the free parking zones.

The ones on the North East side have parking meters. Do the Disabled Parking have parking meters too?

Only the cars been done with the Centre parking been done so far.

Not sure how long will take me, but plane to animate as many pieces as I can.

I been in touch with Supercheese and he has given me permission to use his Eye Candy Vehicles.

He has Police cars, Fire Engines, Ambulance, Tow Truck, Garbage Truck, Mail Truck, and Motorcycle.

I sure we can find room for those.

Also want to add the to my AuzTownObjects and like to try make the necessary buildings that would house those Vehicles and make them so they will hide a Vehicle Depot under them.

I have seen disabled parking have meters, but this has been exclusive to on-street parking. I've also seen disabled parking in metered lots, but the individual spaces don't have meters, you either pay to enter/exit the lot or you pay a central kiosk.

Here the source files of what I done so far also the game file if you like to only try that..

It includes the animated coding for the car parks and some sheep.

Experimenting with sheep was quicker and easier then trying to park heaps of cars.

Now that the sheep animation works, I plan to use the coding over the next several days maybe a lot longer and start converting all the other files in the car park to animation.

Perhaps notable differences are lack of attribution requirement in GPL and acceptance of commercial derivatives (or redistribution) and most notably GPL requirement to distribute source code.

Hi Luxtram,

Thanks for pointing all that out to me .. so to be on the safe side I sent Supercheese a PM just to make sure all be ok ..

Players will not have access to the sprites of all 8 views of those vehicles. And in projects where I hope to use them as be just the angle views.

Heard from Supercheese, he request I show in the readme file that those vehicle are Creative Commons.

Players when using any thing I make using those vehicles will not have access to sprites that Supercheese sent me.

I doubt that at this point ;) Unfortunately this isn't one of those super easy things. As eddie explains here: viewtopic.php?p=1206368#p1206368 you can't just do it directly with the date as the tiles won't reliable update. So you'd need to do it like ie VAST and calculate the date and use that as animation trigger.

Sooner or later it'd kinda like to figure out the details for that, as seasonal sprites could be useful (farm tress growing food or whatever). But just for a little gimmick I doubt it's worth it ^^;


Also, is it worth mucking about with licenses? supercheese's vehicles are pretty specific, aren't they? Not the type you'd usually see on a parking lot anyway. Not mean to be a criticism of him or anyone else, but are they really needed here?

Most of the vehicles of Supercheese will be used in my AuzTownObjects to go with Fire station, ambulance Station and buildings like that I plan to add.

In the car parks like to add the garbage Truck. I haven't added them to the game yet, but will put some skip bins near the bus stops like they are in Glendale, or maybe in one of the Loading Zones so the novelty was for the truck to appear as if collecting it.

The Mail Van could look good in one of the Loading Zones as if collecting or delivering mail.

Unfortunately the police car is bigger than the cars I using.

I be train riding today so coding have to wait till Wednesday.

Done some more animated Car Parking.

Turned the sheep paddocks in to more parking space.

I've divided it into 2 sections:

Animated Centre Car Parking
which is displayed in image above
and
Animated Car Parking Either Side
(not displayed above).

There are 2 selections "Parking with Few cars" and "Parking with many cars".

But a slight problem with selections .. If select Few cars just the lighting is available for a extra choice and if choose many cars only the extra offer is the Parking Meters.

Need to change this so both selections offer Lighting and later if players like a set with Parking Meters so if I can make a set at a later stage.

Here the game file if like to try.

Walk Ways are done between Bus Zones and Shops.

You will have a choice with or without the roofing.
