I gone to the beach for a while seeing if I can get the Harbour Walls to work with the Beach Objects.

The rocks courtesy of Romazoon and the beach sand and surf from Quast65.

The Walls just sort of idea .. these walls could be renamed Sea Walls instead of harbour Walls that way they suit where ever they are placed).

The beach sand with the rocks, the beach sand with the stairs and the rocks in the water are items in my object set. The rest of the beach sand and surf from Beach Objects.

Looking at changing some of the Walls that have the grass and pathways. I don't think need for the stone walls. Looking at 2 sets like in image and possible 2 of the brick walls (or maybe the brick to concrete) .. the second of each type will have beach sand for the corner pieces that can see missing above. Got some thinking to do how to go about this.

When I get these finished will be 3 object sets to upload here.

AuzWaterObjects .. fixed the height issues and transferred the boats from AuzObjectAddOns to here plus added a few more boats. (Hope upload very soon)

AuzWaterAddOns .. will have the Harbour walls (which I probably rename Sea Walls), canals, parklands, boat ramps to name a few). (Hope upload very soon)

RomazoonAddOns .. will have some add ons for the Romazoon Object Set. (Hope upload very soon)

AuzObjectAddOns .. will no longer available at this stage. It will wait till after I get the object sets updates and available for Bananas which could be months away and then be used for any new additions.

Experimenting to see if I can make Newcastle Beach, New South Wales, Australia.

The foreshore very hilly and steep some places so I doubt that I be able to do it all to how it actually is, but I getting some ideas from it so build it as close as I can to real.

It has pathways on at least 2 levels. At the top of the slope and another almost at beach level. Some places there are fences both levels and some place just the top level.

It being designed to use with the Beach Object set.

Made a few changes to Newcastle beach by adding more rocks.

This is now a separate "Object Selection" menu called "AuzWater: Newcastle Beach".

It has 4 different sea walls .. 2 for sand and 2 for rocks.

It best to use Beach Objects with these.

Still more to add. 2 items like to try make is a Pavilion with change rooms and Life Guard tower.

If like to try what I done so far here the game file along with the updated AuzWaterObjects.

Next post will have Romazoon Add ons.

Hi Garry,

If I can ask, may you add to your set (add but not replace) two additional poles:

- large telegraph poles from the picture in grey (concrete) color
- metal poles from the picture of the same below with the same height as large telegraph pole

That one easier enough .. do you want same amount of cross arms or maybe make a few metal ones some with less cross arms?

EDIT:

Question for you all .. do we really need the wires between poles? If you can use Google Earth and look at power poles from roughly same height to match in game, the wires between poles not easy to see and many cases you cant see them.

It basically all most impossible to design the wires for slopes as so many variety of slopes in game and not easy when changing directions to North-South and East-West.

So any new poles will be no wires.

They can also be placed on water .. I seen these type of poles following the railway line between Hawkesbury River and Woy Woy. The poles are actually in the water following the river.

Done 3 taller metal poles for Transmission and sub-transmission use. You will find these in the "AuzPower: Transmission Lines" section.

Hope to change the menu for all the Purchase Menu for all the poles eventually to something like this.

I've seen drawing where some thing is longer or taller then what will fit so they use 2 lines with a space between them indicating they cut some of the item out. In my case I cut several metres of the pole off.

So hope to do this to the other poles and then I can make the Purchase menu template shorter.

Give these a try and see what you think.

But with with two different heights:

1. with the height which is present in the set right now
2. with smaller height, more or less equal to the height of telegraph poll (just by shorten pole above already present in the set)

Would it be possible to do?

I can share my opinion that indeed wires are not really needed because they should not be visible from the top.

Hi Garry,

I tried, and I'd like to propose the following:

Poles #1, #2 and #3 on this picture should remain the same height as they're now
Could you change height of the pole #4 to be the same as #5?
Could you add pole #2 with different height (equal to #5)?

The reason of this request that poles #1 and #2 are backbone power lines, pole #3 is distribution and #4 and #5 should be access lines.

The voltage is maximum for backbone lines and minimum for access lines. And the height of the pole depends on the voltage, so it is a little bit unrealistic to have pole #4 with the same height as poles #1 and #2.

I didn't make that pole a person called SAC made it.

Any lattice/girder type poles are not easy to make. Took me many weeks to do #1.

If able to make a smaller version of #2 would it be better it also a different design?

Adding more to the Newcastle Beaches.

They can now join the other sea walls plus added more rocks.

Still have not done the pavilion for it yet as found several old photos of how it was and Google earth show it has changed a lot .. so need try decide which one to make and also which be easier. So that is on my to-do later list.

Here the game file if like to have a try making a nice beach and coastal theme.

Looking through some projects of Romazoon been doing and they gave me some ideas. If you have a look at his forum Romazoon's Graphics thread (viewtopic.php?p=1125043&sid=efc7c09b2ba ... 1#p1125043)

He has some graphics of rocks and cliffs. (Hope to use the rocks and cliffs in the seawalls).

Been playing around with his waves see what I can make for a surf and in turn that gave me some ideas for the waterfalls.

The waterfalls I did previous I liked, but all photos I have seen of waterfalls the water turns white when it falling so been experimenting see if I can do same.

Two different views of the water colour. (Sorry I do not know how do a animated version).

If you be kind enough to test these for me and give me your opinion which if any would be good in game.

Called them waterfalltest and they are numbered so easier for you to let me know which are better. Only done the one direction so far.

Making Pavilions and surf for the Newcastle Beach set.

Still need to do the following to this image.
* Change the colour of the roof over the table and seats as the green blends in with the grass.
* Rocks need to be extended a few pixels.
* Need to make some surf to suit half beach and half rocks.

This image needs a few changes as well.
* The Pavilion has blank concrete area .. this is vacant ready some buildings to be added.
* Need to design some angle surf for both rocks and sand.

You can try what I done so far but remember it is incomplete as still lots to add and some things to change.

There is also a beach test to see what surf would like full size of a tile. No sure yet is half tile or full tile surf should be used or maybe have both.

The wide surf I experimented with I think I will remove it and maybe work on them another time if players like them.

I think a narrow surf to match the natural coast lines looks a lot better.

This image a sample .. at each end is the natural coastal slopes and the rocks and beach also have the same surf as the natural coast has so they all match up.

The wide surf look a bit strange and hard to match up with the normal coastal slopes. So I plan for now to remove those wide surf sections. Might look at them again another time and see if I can make them look a lot better.

The Beach Objects surf I think look so much better for those who want a big surf.

At least that my opinion.

Still working on the Newcastle Beaches.

Changes:
* Made two Object Classes in the Object Selection Menu. Now have "AuzWater: Newcastle Seawalls" and "AuzWater: Rocks, Sand, Surf" The reason for change so that "Rocks, Sand, Surf" easier to find as can be usded with other water objects.
* Added some pieces to the Pavilion.
* Changed the roof of the under cover tables and seats. Took the green iron off and put a flat concrete roof on top.
* Will be removing the sand and rock triangular pieces from the Newcastle Seawalls. Instead the sand and rocks will be overlap pieces included in the "Rocks, Sand, Surf" section.

Might have a copy of the game file available in a few hours time if my kids let me stay at the computer.

My idea did not work properly (i,e, Will be removing the sand and rock triangular pieces from the Newcastle Seawalls. Instead the sand and rocks will be overlap pieces included in the "Rocks, Sand, Surf" section.) I forgot overlaps to the south don't always work when you want that overlap to be on top.
