Though I realise now I stuffed up the shading on that big one, here's a fixed file :)

Trying to make some old style passenger ferry wharves. Based on a wharf at Stockton NSW, Auztralia back in the 60's.

Suppose to be 4 different wharves and showed 2 of the same in the image. I also forgot to add the surf under the front of them. Added some lighting so I can see what I was doing.

So here they are again .. hope I got them all right now.

Here the latest AuzBoatingObjects.

Needs to have some the purchase menu for some boats re-did as they not displaying centered.

This might also upset a game if you been using these boats as I made some multi selection Menus so can add more boats.

Thanks pal .. looking at cargo types found along rivers next.

Also thinking how easy to lower the wharves I did years ago. Making them lower the big ships will look more realistic next to them . The problem is the slope shore as it 8 pixels high and the wharves will only be 3 or 4 pixels high. Maybe could do something similar to the idea that Michael Blunck did in his Marico set. Shall think about it while I doing the river cargo wharves.

Here is some more river wharves that would have been in use in towns not yet connected by rail.

There are 6 items for each direction and can be used singly or join them together.

These photos are of a placed called Paterson between Newcastle and Dungog Auztralia.

This one looks like the cargo on the wharf consist of bags vegetables . Any guesses what else is there?

This one showing milk cans (also known as cream cans .. milk was so nice those days direct from the cows and not watered down .. yet.

After looking at those 2 old photos above .. I figured out a way to make a old river wharf to look more like the 2nd photo.

The pieces consist of 9 multi select tiles for each direction. There are 5 with wharf .. some with cargoes waiting to be transported. They can be used singly or join like in this image. You can also just have one exit/entry if like.

Fixed the purchase menu so get a better view of the ships and boats.

Added 2 of Emperor Jakes ferries.

Slight change in the Object Selection Menu. I added Small Freighters and renamed Freighters to Large Freighters. I then tried to separate the small and larger freight type ships in those 2 menus. Main idea of that so the smaller ships can be used better with the River Wharves in the AuzWaterAddOns.

If there are any ships if the Squid ate Ships that you like to have as a stationery object ship please let me know.

Cheeky request Garry but any chance for some residential houseboats while you are on the boating theme?

They might be a nice idea? Shall see what I can do. I been on one for a few days many years ago at a place called Mungo Brush .. part of the myall Lakes a wee distance north of Nelsons Bay, NSW Australia.

Splitting the object sets so easier to find what you want.
I reading that the new OpenTTD 12 will allow NewGRF limit increased to 255.

So wondering .. many of my objects sets I crammed a lot of mixed objects into the once set to reduce the amount of NewGRF we had to have. So wondering if I could split them into better sets. For instance I have seawall, wharfs and jettys scattered in several sets. Have houses also in a few sets.

I also working on a AuzOldObject set .. it has objects that suitable to use pre 1900s.

These ones copied from other object sets.

Dividing objects or unifying objects according to topics is a great idea. Just please don't change the object IDs so it doesn't break the screenplay or game. Thank you. :bow:

I personally prefer the objects to be distributed among the least amount of NewGRFs possible, so I would be against splitting the sets. But do whatever you think is best :)

Thanks all for your feed back. When I came up with this idea wasn't thinking of using them in games that are in progress.

It a Catch 22 .. I right and also wrong if I make them.

If I continue on with this idea I make sure they start with "AuzNewObjects[name]" So be a bit like this .. AuzNewObjectsWharfAndJetty, AuzNewObjectsBoating, AuzNewObjectsFarms.

Before I decide I will get some work done to the new set .. guess I can call it "AuzNewObjects_Pre1900".

And try finished these sets .. AuzReefsAndAtollsObjectsPt2 (still need to finish the animated surf and a few other things), AuzIndObjects (add buildings from the Industry set I been working on) , AuzFarmObjects (add the Hops plantation .. for those who love a beer or three). So best I finish these first.

So IF I make any new sets they will all start them with "AuzNewObjects" .

Something I wanted to work on before and got side-tracked on other things.

Lowing the wharves so that ships berthed beside them the gunnel is higher then the wharf.

Wonder how these would look. The pieces go on water next to the slope and overlap 10 tiles over the slopes. The slopes are a challenge and not sure if can get them looking ok.
