In the Auz Water Add Ons I added some Wharves. This will work with the wharves in the AuzWaterObjects .. just these new ones allow you to make bigger wharves that go out into the water as wide and as long as you like .

Love how people and use my ideas different to how I planned :D Good job.

Did you know the houses in AuzWaterAddOns that I made for camping can go on water too.

Hi KahlilGibran and any one else like idea of houses on the water.

Made a few more houses and a few junctions to go with the Jetty. There are 8 sets of houses (the original 3 sets + 5 more) and all can be used on water and on land.

Need to do the houses from other 2 directions but could be a while before I get chance to do those.

If any one know of any houses in town sets that would go good with these let me know where I can get them from so can add them too.

Have a play around with these and see what you all thing.

The only thing maybe missing is the water-effect at the bottom of the pylons…
(Adding that would mean you cant use them on land, so a seperate set)

Most likely make a separate set once I do the other 2 views.

I think the ones with verandah/porch can be land based and those with the narrow jetty would be better water based, and I make a few more to that design.

I think some longer narrow jetty go good to for those who want to live a bit further away from the main jetty walk way.

Just realized something .. to have the animated water I need to code it in 8 bit as got no idea how to code it in 32 bit (and at this stage not want to learn it) ..

So I will re-do the houses that are to go one water in 8 bit.

The only thing you have to do is add a reference to a mask-graphics-file in your alternative-sprites block (where you have your reference to the 32bpp-file):

I believe that is less work than converting your 32bpp buildings into 8bpp and maybe losing some of the nicer look of 32bpp...

You most likely is right .. might sink in better after I get a good night sleep :wink: :D

Here where I up to with it for now. Still need the animated water and a few houses people have to jump across a gap to reach their walk way.

There is a set of narrow walk ways and the houses face all 4 directions. These have there own menu section called "AuzWaterAddOn: Camp on Water" (I can change it if any one has a better name)

Animating the water in 32 bit graphics I been unsuccessful.

Wonder if some one like to have a look at what I did and correct what I did wrong, or what I didn't do. :roll:

This has the source of one of the houses that goes on water.

Has a 8 bit file called houses07_08 which has the blue background and only the water splashes.

Also has a 32 bit called houses07_32 and it has the houses but no water splashes.

Maybe that where I went wrong, or maybe it in the coding.

Appreciate any help.

1. Put something like _MASK in the name of the 8 bpp graphicsfile with the animated colors.
This is also so you can more easily find those type of graphics in your folder. (just like you maybe do with _SNOW and _PURCHASE)

2. In your houses_32 graphics, DO NOT DRAW the animated colors in there! Only put those in the graphics you will use as a mask.
Also, dont draw them in the "regular" 8bpp graphics. Simply said, nowhere else than in your mask graphics.

By the way, not sure if you already do this, the "regular" 8bpp graphics could just be a file with only the blue boxes and nothing drawn in them.
Thats because the 32bpp graphics will cover those up anyway.

This should be the three graphics you will need for your test (I could not find special graphics for snow and/or purchasemenu):

The changes:
In the alternative sprites blocks, I added the reference to the _MASK graphics

Thats all ;-)




However, as these tiles are for water only, I think you should add:
OBJ_FLAG_NOT_ON_LAND
to the object flags

and change :
GROUNDSPRITE_NORMAL
to
GROUNDSPRITE_WATER
for the purchasemenu's
