Been train travelling last 2 weeks to get photos of trains, railway infrastructure and other buildings to add to my projects.
Monday April 24 I travelled by train to Dungog on the north coast line. But before I left I forgot to down load previous photos to computer and make room on the storage device in my tablet, so didn't get as many photos and video clips as I wanted.
Then yesterday (April 28) I went train riding again to do some train spotting and get photos of locos on freight and coal trains .. see a few out the window while I was travelling on the train to my destination and as soon as I arrived at destination a freight train with a load of containers was passing the station, too late to get photos and when I got to the spot I wanted to get photos from, a coal train was already passing that location so I missed the locos but got the wagons. (Coal wagons are nicknamed Batwings).

After taking a few photos of the passing coal train I waited an hour and no more came .. found out later that after this coal train passed they closed the line for maintenance work. So much for my day of train spotting.
Have any of you used WIRED that McZapkie made? Can control signals in advance with it and send small amounts of mail along the telegraph wires. To control signals can use the telegraph wires or the track foundations. I hoping to make something similar. I was planning to do this many months ago, but got side tracked and never had chance to get more photos.
It Australia wiring for remote control signalling and track circuits are in troughs .. some places they are above ground like these pics. Some locations they are at ground level or even under ground. Like to make these as objects once I get some more photos of signals, points and circuitry that are controlled by these and later hope I can do something similar to what McZapkie has done.

In these pics I took some places the cables goes to ground level at a angle (middle photo) .. some times they disappear underground or some continue in a trough at ground level. The ones that disappear under ground seems to be at level crossings and access roads.
And some come to a abrupt end like that at the bottom photo. Maybe the wires here cross to other side of the railway line or maybe end of a section.
Some locations along the troughs there are boxes as can be seen in the pics .. possible at these locations there is a signal or a set of points, but I need to get some more pics to see what's what.
Weather permitting I be doing some more train travelling next week to get some pics of trains and infrastructure so can add more to the AuzObjects_Rail set.
This last photo on the back of train is a blinky bill .. he's doing guard duties showing a red blinking light so know it is the last wagon of the train. To the right of the railway tracks are posts with a small white concrete pipe .. I not a 100% sure, but I think these are creep pegs. When I worked for the railways these were yellow. Maintenance crews regularly measure the distance from these to the railway line to make sure the lines are not moving.
