Re: [OTTD] POLL - BRTrains - Development Thread

Oops, my bad i missed it, though the sprite for the Loco class 91 is still off-aligned, which is not a big deal actually, as a lot other trains also requires sprite realignment which can be done later or even in the final stages of this development (touch-ups basically).

Also, i think Class 91 may also need an MU version, as i've seen them with fewer coaches than the initial set, and also that since they are designed with a locomotive, can be multipurposed for something else (freight for example).
You can also find me at Reddit. Check out my OpenTTD Screenshots & Savefiles!

Also in 0.4.4.2 is the class 413, 414, 415, 416 and 418. With special sounds. In the future, we will be using another GRF for new sounds.

So to elaborate we will release several sound packs which must be loaded before BRTrains in the grf list and these will add model specific sounds based on real life recordings:)

We have locos to be coded but without stock to go with them theyve fallen by the wayside.

Coaches after all are quite boring to draw :P

By the way, are any of the costs going to be changed in this mod? I think that some of the vehicles are extremely cheap for their capabilities, especially when compared to other newGRFs like 2ccTrainsinNML.

All costs are scaled against the 373 which is by far the most expensive to run.

You can of course run this alongside a basecost modifier to up the costs.

Just thought I'd show you all something I've been working on - still a WIP, and the majority of graphical issues/differences in the \ and / views will be fixed before it is completed, and I'm not happy with the front yet. Let me know what you think for now :)

v0.5 released!
What's new?
Class 33
Class 55
Class 175
Class 458
Class 507
Class 508
Mk2 coaches
HHA wagons

What's changed?
Different ageing for first class passengers
Some liveries have been updated (Southern Class 455, EWS Class 66 come to mind)
HSTs are now done the OpenGFX way. The purchase sprite is being difficult however...
I did try to do it so that the old HSTs still work in this update, but can't be purchased. Don't rely on it
EDIT
I tried, it didn't work. 255 challenger will completely break if you update in game: it will get stuck without power. The others break, but can move.
EDIT 2
I've fixed the above, but ensure the version BaNaNaS is showing is as in the picture. If you downloaded the previous version, you'll need to go to User\Documents\OpenTTD\content_download\newgrf and delete BRTrains-v0.5.tar before trying to update via BaNaNaS.

Quite a lot for 1 update!

Quite a few bugs ive noticed tho

68s Chiltern and Scotrail liveries misaligned
222 5 car only has Midland Mainline livery when only EMT is available
508 has a few naming problems with the Southeastern liveries
The mk3s with the power cars all have different speeds and can only go 60mph
The mk2 capacity is a little low? probably just me
387 capacity is technically wrong but is fine as is (only me who is noticing so dw)

Any chance for some electric locos and DVTs, chiltern ones or GA ones would be good.

Keep up the brilliant process :D

Class 68: been like that since forever
Class 222: Explain more? I think it should be an easy fix.
Class 508: Again, explain more. Or I could go look at it.
Mk2s: These are the figures I was given. Remember, these coaches were more spaced out than you modern day equvilent.
Mk3s: Looking into this immediately
As for electric locos, we have few drawn yet to code. Sure, we have the 91 and 73, but I doubt that's what you had in mind. I'll be working on fixing what I can over the next few days.

The pic is the 222 issue.

The southeastern 508 has Southeastern Blue which is actually yellow with stripe.

Yeah the mk2s are fine then.

As for electric locos, i was more thinking whether 86s, 87s or 90s were coded or drawn? I have no talent what so ever so i cant do those things.

Next update I hope to bring you the class 90, 309, 315 and possibly a few others, as well as a bunch of bug fixes. But I need to know one thing going forward: do we like the way the HSTs are done after the update?
