Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
There are 2 known issues with this version, which we are working hard to fix. Please don't complain.
Issue one: The colas 67 looks absolutely shocking. It's due to a misalignment.
Issue two: The class 460 has inexplicably disappeared. I don't know why. Maybe it hasn't. If you find the class 460, please contact us.

And apparently the Class 70 looks terrible. To which I say that is a load of balls, the real one is just as awful.
Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Also i couldnt find the dynamic lines class 180?Gwyd wrote:Sounds like V0.4.3.2 is now on BaNaNaS...
What's new?
Class 465
Class 466
Colas Rail Class 67 & 37
First Great Western (Dynamic lines) Class 180
Special sounds for electrostars
Special sounds for networkers
Simple mode perameter - Only 1 or 2 versions of each class of train is avaliable.
But amazed at the progress and its happening so quickly!

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Ah i noticed, the Class 460 disappeared from the last update, but with this new update, i found it again.
Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
I have just tried to download the newest update from the start menu grf settings but there the BRTRAIN set is not longer on the online content. Is there any issues
Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Nope.
BRTrains 0.4.3.3 is the latest version and has 148 succesful downloads so far.
Could be a firewall issue?

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Dont think so. I can download the file off the bananas website but the game isnt recognising the file. As I say off the in game grf downloader still is not there when you search for online files, after iI changed the firewall settings, even though all other GRFS i have still appear. Dont really know what is going on with this atm
Sorry just found out that I hadnt downloaded the new version of ottd and that was problem. Thanks for the help

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Good afternoon all, long time observer and first time poster.
Firstly may I commend the efforts of everyone involved in the creation of the set, it is very much enjoyed!
However, a couple of little things I've come across, all on OpenTTD version 1.7.1;
1.) On BRTrains v0.4.2, the Arriva Wales 150 livery doesn't appear correctly in a depot or when facing in a north/south direction across the map, but appears correctly when facing east or west.
2.) When I update BRTrains from v0.4.2 to v0.4.3.3 mid-game, I receive an error message about the Class 460 and my fleet of Class 444 units out on the network disappear, and are replaced by a hybrid mix of Class 460 coaches and steam engines. However when I go to a depot and purchase a Class 444, it appears as normal both in depot and out in service. It also only seems to affect the Class 444, and previous mid-game updates to BRTrains have not caused any issues before.
Keep up the awesome work
Cheers
AJ

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Hey thanks for your comments. Can you show the arriva train in both views to demonstrate the problem.
We are working on a fix to save historic saves affected by the error
It should be noted however that changing/updating grfs midgame always comes with risks which is why the option to do so isnt in default game behaviour

Thanks for the reply, hoping this shows the Arriva 150 anomaly a bit clearer!Leanden wrote:Hey thanks for your comments. Can you show the arriva train in both views to demonstrate the problem.

Obviously I shouldn't be going and updating GRFs mid-game, but thought it may have been worth raising as I haven't encountered any issues with previous updates to BRTrains on that save
Cheers

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
I'm not intending this to look mean, but bug reports about changing grfs in-game are an absolute waste of time.
Someone will inevitable now pop up and say "it's normally fine" They're wrong. I pretty much continuously edit newgrfs and reload them on running games. I break vehicles, industries and cargos consistently doing this, or crash OpenTTD. If I do an hour of newgrf dev, I might crash OpenTTD hard 4 or 5 times in that period. Changing newgrfs is not fine.
However, it's easy to give a good bug report. Just start a fresh game, and try to replicate the issue. Use the money and date cheats if necessary.
For what it's worth the class 150 issue looks like an unclosed articulated vehicles callback, but eh, without a clean repro, who knows

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
The only thing you could do is reload the game with a version of BRTrains where the error wasnt there, send all the trains to the depot, and then update and replace all the trains with the fixed version.
We werent aware we'd broken it tbh, so we couldnt have even changed the compatible_version parameter to break updates.

Re: [OTTD] BRTrains - Development Thread
Looked into the 150 as well, its not a bug, the 150 in that livery was very heavily shaded, see the sprite sheet below.
