Latest Train sets. 15/12/2016 9 pm

Updates:

I think I fixed all the graphics on the steam trains. When paulicus25 said there was some graphic issues, I knew there was some, but not realised almost all the steam trains needed patching.

Also found some coaches from Gen1 needed patching too.

I changed colours to the Gen1 coaches that came with 2cc set.

Done a few more Wagons in NSW colours. They taking longer then I thought. If I can get the rest of these done I think I can close NSWTrains and release a version to Bananas.

If any one see any graphic issues with the diesels, electrics, EMUs and DMUs, let me know please.

Hi fella, no update yet .. still working on the Freight Wagons.

Got a reply from 'Doorslammer' yesterday giving me permission to use his sprites. Have a look at the VicRail Set for some of his work.

Like to thank Doorslammer for allowing me to add his trains .. thanks pal.

I pushing hard to get NSWTrains finished .. if there are no bug reports with the last issues, then I hope it be finished in time for Christmas, if not sooner.

Then I can concentrate solely on the AuzTrains.

Still got a lot to do and discovered I been doing a lot I didn't need to do.

Been doing wagons for many days now, changing their sizes to fit in the different types Gen, Gen2 etc. .. To save doing Gen2 I deleted them yesterday as not had any wagons that size. What I have are either smaller or larger. Same problem with Gen3, I have no size 6 sprites.

This morning I realised, I not need to change the sprite sizes .. all I had to do was go into the NML file go to the length: of each wagon concerned and change the size there. .. Instead of size 6 for Gen3 I just made it size 7. Will save a lot of graphics editing. Now I can add Gen2 again and do same for that .. why the heck I not think of that before .. maybe I just love doing things the hard way first so I appreciate the easy way later.

The fun of it all .. I know I said hope to have done before Christmas .. hope you realise I didn't say what Christmas .. :) :D :)

Here's some more updates.

The Freight Wagons graphics for Gen1 and Gen3 are finished. The Oil tankers in Gen3 not a 100% happy with graphics .. but will do for now. Guaranteed not to leak any oil while playing game.

Gen2 temporarily removed from game .. might even leave them out altogether .. Gen3 been changed to be available 10 to 20 years earlier .. They will start to appear from 1900.

Gen4 done all except Car Transporters and Centerbeam wagons. Might remove the Centerbeam wagons as I have no NSW Graphics for them and not sure if my drawing skills any good to do Wide Plate Wagons.

Gen5 done Boxcars, Silo Wagons, some container carriers and flatcars.

Just an idea :idea:

Some passenger trains have a car transporter included in the consists .. in Australia called a MotoRail Service .. Souther Aurora, Indian Pacific, Gold Coast MotoRail where a few I know of .. believe there was others in other States too.

Passengers could take their cars with them.

I want to do same .. but towns do not create vehicles .. so I will let them take about 20 passengers to create an income as if passengers are paying for their cars.

Whatcha think :?:

If you have an idea how these MotoRails can create extra income on a passenger train let me know.

yes it allready exist i believe in DACH set and the SBB set ;) (they setted their wagons to 30 passengers but showing eight cars)

also if you want to make this kind of wagon more valuable while transporting fewer passengers you can interfer with the decay payment rate and give a bonus of time to deliver wich can increase greatly revenue over long distance. -> i think the PKP set uses a restaurant wagon achieving that for the full train, and it has 1st class refit wich increase revenue over long distane only for the wagon that is refited.

also keep up, you are doing great so far ;)

Can you give me a hint where to change decay payment rate?

Had a look in the item file of that particular vehicle but not see what to change!!!

I wish i could help you but i really have no idea where to look at in the code...i know the features cause i used them in a few games already...that s about it
...sorry...

edit: check maybe the Fish ship set ? it has ships wich have low decay rate (cause they are refrigerated), and all the others i believe just use the regular decay, maybe there it might be easier to spot what code you need ?

That ok .. main idea of the MotoRail is those like me to make trains look like they did in real ..

I've arrange so can choose if want to carry Passengers or Mail.

Just deciding how many tons it would carry .. usually carried 10 cars .. 4 persons per car, I think I could put capacity at 32 passengers will average out ok.

I'll introduce the service in 1962 same when Southern Aurora started, although it didn't officially start to early 1970s.

Could just have it as a Multi-Purpose Vehicle Carrier thingy, where if refitted for passengers there will be car sprites on a flatbed or what ever they use, just like the motorail you guys talk about, but for other things like mail or goods, perhaps have a truck/truck trailer sprite on the wagon instead to make it a little more flexible and useful.

I just finished the car transporters in the freight wagons in Gen4 and Gen5 so for now I just copied the loaded Car Transporters over and placed with Coaching Stock.

Think they do ok for now for realism. Maybe later on when we running out trains to add to AuzTrains, might look further into it.

Only got a few Gen4 wagons to do .. hope they finished by tonight. There basically same as Gen3 so fairly easy to do.

Gen5 wagons a bit longer then what sprites I have .. they will take longer, unless I make them size 7 for now so can finish NSWTrains to be released and then mothball it and start adding trains to AuzTrains like the Tilt Train and those that Doorslammer let me use. Later look at resizing the wagons if find some good graphics to use.

Hi fellas,

The following been changed with NSWTrains and AuzTrains .. some temporary and some might be permanent .. depends on feedback.

I've removed the Centerbeam wagons from both Gen4 and Gen5.

Removed Container_Doublestack wagons .. this I think be temporary as these are in use in this country too. But double stacking of the containers does not happen where there are tunnels and overhead wires. Not sure how these go if we actually doublestack containers on top of each other in the game .. Have to play a game with no tunnels, no girder bridges, no overhead bridges, unless they double the height, and no overhead wires????

Removed superheavy flatcar. I do have some diagrams of these carrying 120 tons and more ..

All Gen 1, Gen 3 and Gen4 now finished.

All Gen 5 finished except the Hopper Wagons. Hope do these over the weekend, and if no bad reports come in from NSWTrains in next few days, release it on Bananas and mothball it.

Boxcars now called Louvred Vans. (Spell checker says Louvred is spelt wrong, but that is how it is spelt if the Railway Workbooks I have and in the book with wagon diagrams).

Added a MotorRail service that becomes available in 1962 same time as Southern Aurora commenced running. Hold 32 passengers, and can be converted to carry mail if wish.

Intend to rename Gondolas in Gen4 and Gen 5 to Open Wagons later too, and the Super Heavy Flatcar to either Well Wagons or Depressed Flat Wagon as they are also called in some books.

Well fella .. (a well is a hole in the ground hope I not fall in).

I think NSWTrains is finished. Been placed on BaNaNas and on page 1 of this forum. Also will find the Source files on Page 1.

Fixed all the graphic issues I could find in the Steam locos and coaches. Couldn't see any in the others and none of those testing for me reported any so hope they ok.

All Freight Wagons are done and I reinstalled Gen2 wagons. Gen3 changed back to their correct starting year.

Some wagons could been done a bit better specially the tankers .. bit hard putting square pixels in round graphics especially on the angle sprites.

I hope not to release any more NSWTrains unless some serious problem is found in it needs attention.

Will now concentrate on AuzTrains and any new NSW trains will only be added to this set.

Latest AuzTrains also on BaNaNas and on Page 1.

Been suggested I include company colours in AuzTrains. What you think?

Have a few suggestions:

1. Make all vehicles the colour of the Australian Companies, which I been doing at the moment.

2. Have the main colour (Colour 1) of Australian Companies and the 2nd colour usually the strip on side you choose what colour you want when start a game.

3. All vehicles be in CC colours.

Now NSWTrains is out the way, I can spend more time on AuzTrains.

Here's a pic of the 2 QR Tilt Trains (Sprites for EMU supplied by Nekomaster and I just repainted it as it was in CC colours) and a VR Siemens Nexas EMU .. VR sprite made by Doorslammer.

I think I might change the carriages on the EMU Tilt Train as all the carriages are showing the pantograph. Might put it on the very end of the power units or make it a separate units like I did to the XPT and Diesel Tilt Train.

Doing trains from other States not be as easy as I have to reply on what I can find on internet, where the NSW ones I also have books to help including diagrams.

The next AuzTrains will be released in a few days time.

I've removed the poll as only 2 people show an interest .. so I will stick to colouring the vehicles as I been doing for now.

Anyone prefer the CC colours, your welcome to download the source files and edit the graphics to CC colours if you wish.

I glad I stopped programming for a while and started playing what I made .. discovered a error in NSWTrains .. some of the carriages for the Southern Aurora carriages are invisible.

They worked in AuzTrains .. but not in NSWTrains.

Here's a patched version.
