Not much been done this afternoon due to power outages and told we will have more power outages tomorrow. So might not get a chance to work on anything till Thursday or a bit later.

Update to the train sets.
mxnp wrote: 08 Mar 2021 15:13 Hey Garry, found a couple bugs and things with AuzTrains (ver. 32, posted 28/08/19) that I thought I'd let you know about.

Firstly, I noticed that AuzTrains has GRF ID 47470505, which conflicts/is the same as AuzTrainsNSW. I don't know if this is intentional, as ver. 29 had GRF ID 47470603 (seems to have changed from ver. 30 onwards). Thirdly, some very minor differences: some of the stats (reliability) are different between AuzTrains and AuzTrainsNSW, with the same exact sets. Also on that note, to clarify, I assume that AuzTrains has everything that AuzTrainsNSW has, and so I only really need to use AuzTrains if I want everything?
The problem I was having with AuzTrains and AuzTrainsNSW basically answered in mxnp post. Some times make a change in one set and forget to change it in the other. So I hoping where I made the AuzTrains a new set and called in AuzTrainsOtherStates and it only contains trains from the other States. I removed all NSW trains from it. If you want to use the NSW passenger carriages and freight wagons with the locos from other States you will need to use both the " AuzTrainsNSW " and the " AuzTrainsOtherStates ".
Ragin1_ wrote: 04 May 2021 07:12 There are a few bugs I keep forgetting to report but since this is getting updated again I've been reminded
All those problems now fixed.

Also add 2 new freight wagons:

GM .. a updated version of the G wagon. Not sure actual year it entered service but believe it was during the War years in the 1940s So I set date for 1942. It carries 40 tons of cargo.
HGM .. a improved version of the GM and entered service in 1951 and can carry 51 tons of cargo.

I coded all louvred vans (box cars) to carry liquids .. the liquids loaded in to drums.

See what other changes I can make next few days in time for weekend. Then I better get back to the Industry Set and get that finished.

Cheers all

Secondly, I found that the Sputnik Double Decker set is using the same texture as the single deck version, even though it has its own sprites.
Not sure what the problem is here. Ones with single deck trailers entered service is 1957 and in 1964 they introduced the double decker trailers.
In the 1960s, tenders were called for double-deck electric passenger cars. In 1964, the first of 120 Tulloch trailers were delivered, and integrated into the single-deck sets. They carried green internal livery and were painted Tuscan Red on the outside sides with painted silver roofs to match the single deck carriages.

Only problem I see is the roof .. it say they was silver, but the images show dark gray (which I guess over the years they would have gotten that dirty). So I will change the roof colours of this set?

If I got your information mixed up can you explain it more?

Here is a look at some DMUs I been working on this evening.

These are the Hunter Railcars (years 2006 & 2013), Xplorers (years 1993 & 2006) and Endeavours (years 1994 & 2009)

They look really good, only criticism I would give is that the Cityrail Hunter railcar probably should use the same yellow as the NSW Trainlink one since the yellows irl are pretty similar.

One thing I've wanted to ask is have you considered doing 2cc for the trains in this set? (I know it's really big ask) It'd help differentiate companies in multiplayer.

AuzTrainsNSW

I will upload the update to this GRF and hope not to make any more changes till end of the month so I can catch up on some other projects. Trains are no good with out cargoes so I need to get my Industry set finished plus a few other projects like 2 competitions this month.

Changelog:
- Almost all open wagons and Louvred Vans (Box Cars) accept liquids cargoes. (Load the liquids into drums)
- Added a CG open wagon for concentrate cargoes only (Coal, Iron Ore, Sand, Zinc, Uranium, gravel, Coke and other similar cargoes). It enters service in 1968.
- Added some more DMUs (see post above).
- Fixed a few CC colours that should not have been there.

If you find any errors please let me know.

Cheers

No problem .. it a bugger when I make those silly mistakes .. often trying to test things and wonder why it not working just because I testing the wrong ones

I have a new helper with trains now .. I now have "Aside8" and "Ragin1_"

"Ragin1_" has had a train making some EMUs. These was planed back in 1987 but never eventuated. But thought they be great to add still.

The train with the tankers on .. the tankers was designed by "Purno" many moons ago .. I did not realize I had that and other images by other artists for the trains with me in Philippines .. I thought I left them all back in Australia, But yesterday searching for other things and found them and lots more that yet to be added to the train sets.

I going to be busy this month switching back and forwards with the trains, Industries and a few other projects .. but hoping to set June a side just for trains and finish some railway stations.

AuzTrainsNSW

Some big changes forecast for train sets.

Much credit and thanks goes to those who put together the dutchtrains-2.2.0-source. I had it for some time and finally been experimenting with it and seeing how they coded so you can purchase trains such as the EMUs as 2, 3, 4 ,5 6, 8 and 10 car sets. No need to purchase the power units and the middle cars separately. Basically buy 1 get the rest of the set for free :D

So I experimented and did a 4, 6 and 8 car V-Sets.

There is 7 different colour schemes that will change when certain dates are reached.

The graphics to these much credit and thanks goes to ""Ragin1_" who has recently join my crew.

I do enjoy having the option of choosing the makeup and length of the set when playing semi-realistically, so I hope it will still remain an option (although maybe it wouldn't make sense for it to both coexist). If any other sets in future do retain the option of adding carriages, my suggestion (which I forgot to add in my last reply) would be to include a 'NSW' and/or 'Auz' icon next to the preview in the depot, to distinguish it from other sets (like how NARS does it) especially with how 'NSW' trains are now separated from 'Other States', and require their own set of carriages. (Or maybe it would be possible to code it so that only one is available and the others are disabled when using multiple Auz sets?)

Anyway, it's looking great! I wonder if there are any plans to add the NIF/D set, or the Alstom Metropolis/TS in the future. In the meantime, I think the A/B sets could use some polish too, with a more accurate livery, and cab area, to fit in better with the rest of the set—I'd offer to give it a go once I find some free time, if Ragin1/Garry and the team don't already have plans to do so.

I've got the D Set drawn and ready to go, just need to send it to Garry. The TS set is in the works rn I just need time to finish it with uni. I thought the TS set would be easy but it's a bloody pain since there aren't any blues that match the Sydney metro colours in openttd.
I think the A/B sets could use some polish too
I was actually thinking that myself when I went to the shops earlier.
I'd offer to give it a go once I find some free time
Once you can give it a go, I started only the other day and I think I'm doing pretty alright. It's just a fun way for me to do trains :D

To give you all a idea what I trying to achieve and you can est it as well.

When you purchase a New South Wales EMU it usually 4 car sets .. so you need to purchase it in 3 sections .. power cars, middle car, and next middle car. So EMUs are 6 and 8 car sets. 8 car set will require you to buy it in 6 parts.

The new EMU D-Sets that will start operating between Sydney and Newcastle this year. They are running around the network now training crews.

For now I showing the start date in game as 31st May 2021. They are in 4 and 6 car lengths. They can operate attached to each other in any combination. But you can not reduce or add any middle cars.
D_Sets.png
D_Sets.png (13.74 KiB) Viewed 11317 times
So give them a try and see if you like all the EMUs to be like this.

At moment there are 4 sets of V_Set EMUs in the game .. this new coding will allow me to reduce these to just 1 and still have the new colour schemes when those years arrive. But if I removed those 4 sets and replaced with just 1 set it will crash you game.

So I seriously thinking I start a new "AuzTrainsNSW" and call it "AuzTrainsNSW_revised_Set" .. and it will have the EMUs, DMUs in their correct combinations for realism.

Give the D-Sets a try and let my crew and I know what you think. Cheers

AuzTRainsNSW

This is what my crew and I are experimenting with (thanks to source from the Dutch Train sets).

The Newcastle Flyer that ran between Sydney and Newcastle became a air-conditioned service in 1948 with a 7 car HUB set.

Previously I had each of the 7 cars as separate so buy separate and build your train. That service is still available, but I thought be nice if can buy all 7 carriages in one transaction. Also to have all the different colour schemes available.

If I got my data correct: This image shows the 4 colour schemes of that train.
Top in 1948 was Tuscan Red and Russet Brown.
In 1960 .. Tuscan Red with Buff lining
In 1982 .. Candy Colour
then finally .. back to Tuscan Red with Buff lining.

I hoping to do all NSW country trains like this so can buy all in one transaction. The draw back .. you can not add or remove carriages in the sets. Can only add to the ends.

Done some EMU L sets (2 car and a 3 car sets) and a 4 car set of the S_sets. (Graphics provided by Ragin1_).
It includes 7 changes of colour schemes between 1972 and 2010.

Also done the Southern Aurora like the Newcastle Flyer .. just one click buys all 14 carriages.

AuzTrainsNSW_overhaul

If you like to try the AuzTrainsNSW_overhaul here's the file.

All the DMU's and EMU's are made up sets .. no need to add middle cars.

You can join them end to end, but can not add anything in the middle

Here some DMUs

Please let us know if have any comments both good and not_so_good.

Hope next week to work on some railway stations for the week. Cheers all
