I looking at Google Earth following some railway lines getting ideas for some more objects.

There are many places there are dry culverts .. most called floodways as that be only time the see water flowing.

Would you like this type of culvert as a object for your games?

Has dry mud under but no water. I intend to make sure they join together so can make them as long as you like.

Maybe take me a day or 2 to finish the set as need to have them for north-south and east-west lines too and also with the Wired crossing them. They do not need dry creek leading to them as they are floodways. But maybe later can do dry creeks if anyone would like.

I separated the creeks, storm water drains and floodways into there own sections so easier to work with.

At moment there are no north-south and east-west floodways.

Fixed the Christmas lights in the stations provided by Coalroad_artist.

Would anyone here like to use the source to the Auz_Lineside_Objects_V3?

Here's a copy for those interested.

Also a separate copy of the latest Auz_Lineside_Objects_V3 newgrf file.

Latest updates include Floodways. No water under these culverts just dried mud. I find these easier to use in scenario making as no need to make creeks connecting them.

The RailSigns now can be used along side railway lines in all directions. Speed sign changed .. I had a circle when should been square with arrow pointing to left.

I hope not to do any more coding for a week or more. Be doing some scenario editing and game play for awhile.

Update to AuzTrains and NSWTrains.

Changes are:

Model_Life changed to many vehicles:
Steam have a minimum life of 50 years. Some still available beyond 1970.
Most diesels, electrics, DMU, EMU, coaching and freight wagons never_expire.
They all have a life span of 30 years before need replacing.
Smaller engines before when double headed carriages would not line up properly. Hope this is fixed on all the smaller engines.

Some vehicles can be flipped in depots. To flip click on the vehicle while holding down the ctrl key on keyboard.

Been no new vehicles added since last release.

Latest sample of Auz_Lineside_Objects.

Has a few extra Staff Huts and station buildings.

Stock Yards now have 2 categories. Stock Yards Cattle and Stock Yards Sheep and they face all 4 directions. Do you think need Stock yards for Pigs?

I've attached the sound files that I hope to use .. there are several sounds of Points changing, Signal and point levers operating and Station Master Whistles.

It would be a shame to leave the sounds out, so here they are, resampled to work correctly ingame.

Thank you ever so much Eddy Arfik. I will put lever sounds back in to all signal boxes and stuff huts, and the Whistle sounds in Station Buildings.

At moment I doing a bit of editing to AuzTrains .. doing some improvements to the freight wagons, which will take me a few more hours to complete.

So hope first thing tomorrow will be able to add these sounds to Auz_Lineside_Objects and hope have the next issue available very soon.

Hi all,

Thanks to Eddy I have put the sound back into Lineside Objects. I've only had chance for a quick test in Nightly r27498 and all worked ok .. that is after I remembered to turn sounds on in Set parameters.

All signal boxes and Staff Huts should have the sounds of point and signal levers being operated. These sounds are soft so need have good ears to hear or have volume up a bit.

Most Station buildings have a Station Masters Whistle sounds. These sounds are louder than point and signal levers.

One minor problem which will do something about later .. some have both a Staff Hut and a Station Building as one item. These only have the whistle at moment. Think I might separate these buildings and make them 2 different items so can have sounds in both.

It past midnight here now and past my bedtime, so I hoping anyone still awake or in another country can test these for me and let me know if they think the sounds are to often. If no reports of problems I think I can update BaNaNas tomorrow.

Hi all,

Just put version 4 of Auz Lineside Objects on BaNaNas.

Has sound effects in signal boxes, staff huts and most station buildings.

Hope to have a break from the objects for a while and do some more to AuzTrains.

Been communicating with Coalroads_artist and much thanks to him have the go ahead to add more of his locos and rolling stock to the set.

I will try and release a working sample in this forum towards the end of each week so you can test on the weekends for me.

To keep you happy in the mean time here is both AuzTrains and NSWTrains with a few extra Coaching Stock and some graphic changes to some of the Container Wagons.

I started adding trains to AuzTrains .. will not release next version for sampling until end of week.

Next version will have:

Silverton 48s Class Diesel, South Australia 830 class Diesel, Australia National DA Class Diesel.

Commonwealth Railways NM. QR BB18 1/4 (Betty), QR PB15 and QR C16 Steam Locos.

Other changes:
All Open Wagons and Gondolas can now carry Wool, Fibre Crops, Goods and Paper. I put Tarpaulins over the cargo to keep them dry.

Have a QR Garratt in the paint shops at the moment. Hope it will be finishedafter I had my beauty sleep.

Still haven't started to change the colours of locos in cc colours as finding it hard with me eyes to tell difference between the blue and green pixels on the blue back ground. Maybe one day I have another go at them.

If you have a problem with the Bright Blue background for the sprites, you can always change that to another color temporarily so long as you return it to Pure blue color (0 Red, 0 Green, 255 Blue)
I must be getting old as I never thought of doing that.

I'm a day early providing the next test issue of AusTrains but due to some health problems I not be available to do much for a few days.

Hope you fellas can test this over the weekend and report any problems with the new locos and any I not found on any others yet.

A question and a request for those testing the AuzTrains.

How do you calculate the horse power, speed and traction effort of steam locos?

If any one can either tell me how to calculate these so easy for me to understand.

If any might have that info already on your puttie in spreadsheet form of locos in Australia .. maybe could let me know.

If any you think I under powered or over powered any or not enough speed please let me know.

The info I find on line in wiki has a lot of info but not much on those details.

I started painting some QR Diesels supplied by Nekomaster. L to R 1200, 1150, 1450 and 2100 classes. The 2100 not completed yet .. only side views done.

My intentions are to do a few more QR locos before starting another State. If want Coaches to haul behind these .. the NSW dog boxes and those with verandas each end closely resemble early QR coaches, so can use these till I get chance make some QR ones later.

Hi all,

Had an idea for the Lineside Objects .. the Culvert for the creeks and storm water drains looked good, but what about the rivers?

Maybe most loved the hump back bridges to cross them .. I for one didn't. So I designed some Fake River Bridges .. Providing you not sailing ships up that river, these might look ok.

What your opinion?

Would you like them added to the Lineside_Objects?

Thanks Supercheese glad you like. Anyone have any idea who did the original Fake Bridges? All I find is licence so can use .. but not readme files say who made them. I've based my ideas on that set. Like to thank who ever it was.

Done some river bridges for lines running north-south and east-west. Sample below.

Have done concrete bridges for rivers running (I think) in all directions.

Brick bridges done all directions except for rivers running east-west. Hope do them later.

Here up date of the Auz_Lineside_Objects_V4 with those changers.
