Here is the latest sample of Auz_Lineside_Objects.

Added: 2 styles of Grenfell Station, Newcastle Signal Box and a Waiting Room.

The Waiting Room needs a slight adjustment and I hope to add awnings later.

Also been doing some repainting of some Station Buildings to make them look like weatherboards .. any comments appreciated on this idea.

I fiddling with the red roof Station buildings at moment that I have in the project to see if they look better a different colour to represent metal roofs and weatherboard walls.

The blue water tanks attached to the signal boxes I changed to look more like metal tanks.

I found some images of tree .. wonder if some of these go ok next to some of the objects and signal boxes to fill in the empty space?

The station buildings that have the platform ramps all now fitted with long ramps so they will blend in with ISR Rail Station sets.

These Station Buildings given me an idea .. wonder if they be ok as a small industries set?

The Industry set will have all the buildings associated with railway stations, truckling depots, etc. have them accepting the end products from the larger Industries in FIRS etc.

Also produce limited cargos such as Passengers, mail, Parcels, Goods, and maybe some other cargos simular to the Bulk Terminal you find in FIRS and SPI Industries.

Need to be able to work with FIRS and other Industry Sets.

It looks like I'll have to go back and recolor some sprites, apparently I didn't have TTD palette loaded. I like the longer platforms better, they blend in nicer with the rest of the ISR platforms.

I'll change the station buildings to have the long platforms.

I just did a test with a Station Industry set .. I used the Goods Sheds, Loading Bays, parcels Office and a few others from my AuzInd project.

When tested with FIRS, in OpenTTD 1.5.1 my set wouldn't load, had a error message, but if I use in OpenTTD Nightly r27395 had no problems.

After I get some more Objects for the Lineside Objects, might look into the Station Industry idea further.

Update: Auz_Lineside_Objects updated above with long platform ramps. .. Jan 3.

Been fiddling with another project I called AuzStations.

It a small batch of buildings you'd find at railway stations and sidings.

I taken these from my other project AuzInd.

They are designed to work as an extension to other industry sets such as FIRS and SPI and can only be played using OpenTTD Nightly.

I tested it with FIRS 1.4.4 and OpenTTD Nightly r27395 .. it may or may not work with earlier versions. My set would not load if using OpenTTD 1.5.1.

They are designed to act simular to how they did in real .. farms in the area (make believe), would deliver their produce to these sidings and the railways would take them to markets and other destinations. The Freight Depot, Goods Shed and Loading Bank act simular to the Bulk Terminal and Port found in FIRS and SPI.

Before I do any more to this project I like to finish the Aus_Lineside_Objects and do some more to AuzTrains. If any one has any suggestions to this AusStations Set please let me know.

Thanks Andythenorth, I will throw the ground frame idea out the window.

I done Tumut Railway Station (be in next release) and hope to do some more Staff Huts.

Hope the graphics shading suitable as I find it hard to do trying to see the different shades when colours are so close.

My main objective was to get some Signal Boxes and the Water Towers, the Employee Houses and Station Buildings are a bonus.

If every one happy with what I done to date in this Auz Lineside Object project, I think I will close it end of week and put on Bananas.

Don't even worry about it. Somebody is probably going to complain about how it's not shaded "right", or complain it doesn't fit TTD style, or complain it doesn't fit OpenGFX style, or complain it looks 8-bit ugly and only 32-bit is beautiful. Just draw what makes you happy. If they don't like it, they're free to not download it or to make it better.
If every one happy with what I done to date in this Auz Lineside Object project, I think I will close it end of week and put on Bananas.
I'll try to get my sprites fixed before then.

That no problem kamnet .. happy to wait for you. Appreciate you helping.

I kinda hope by releasing these projects, that it might encourage players from other Australian States to have a go and do some graphics too.

I out of ideas at moment. Ground frame are too small and the water column to far from the rails to look good.

Not sure if to add any brick station buildings as there are some in the Station Sets such as the CHIPS and the Dutch Station Sets and others.

Maybe could do CTC buildings .. friss-stations already has these, but some in set I doing might go ok too.

What about Australian Locomotive Depots/Work Shops, where the locomotives and railcars may go when they need servicing and repair. For any large rail depots from real life it'll probably have to be broken up into pieces though.

What about Australian Locomotive Depots/Work Shops
Love to be able to do that and also make a coal stage, but my knowledge in coding not that good.

There is a set called Modular Locomotive Sheds that people can build a Round Houses to what ever shape they wish, also has module loco sheds and turntables.

Another set called NewStations v0.6 (newstats) has a 1/4 shape round house and turntable.

I can do a stock pile of coal with a front end loader or something like. I'll make one and put here shortly see what people think.

How to put them closer to railway lines .. that another question that I don't have a answer for yet.

I making a set of CTC Objects .. I done a CTC Relay Hut, will soon do the CTC Phone Cabins you see at each end of Crossing Loops and looking for a suitable building to act as the CTC Control Centre made of brick and a single story building simular to the one at Broadmeadow NSW.

Have any of you used the Dutch Road Furniture? That set gave me an idea if some of that idea can be used with railway lines.

Many many thanks Foobar and his crew, the creators of Dutch Road Furniture. I'm going to try and use some of their ideas in my Auz_Lineside_Objects see what can be done.

So far I only created 4 Rail Signs.

They are: KM (mileage) Post, Speed Sign, Whistle Post and Distant Landmark. Let everyone test what I did and see if you like before I try adding more.

One idea I intend to experiment with is the Hard Road Shoulders .. if can change the graphics so they look like dirt access roads running beside the railway lines. Problem is the rail lines that run north-south and East-West, roads don't do that.

Anyway have a play with these signs and see what you all think.

Thanks 3iff for you compliment.

I been testing dirt access roads to run along side the railway tracks .. they work ok but the fence lines runs down the middle of the dirt.

I'm using NuTracks. The slowest track does not have fences, but the others do.

If any one like to test and see if these dirt roads good idea or not. They will not work on some track layouts as mentioned in last post.

Dirt roads thanks to McZapkie . I borrowed them from his Wired project.

Hi all,

After searching the internet and info that kamnet gave I found some places that did have round water tanks used by the railways in Australia.. 2 of these were Caledonia and Brocklesby. So I did a round tank and placed it a bit closer to the railway tracks.

It be included in the next release of Auz_Lineside_Objects. If all goes well hope to have it available later today.

I've removed the dirt access roads. Whether or not I add them again .. depends on my coding skills and if people want them back.

My next project for this object set is to see if can do something simular to the Fake Bridges. Make them look like culverts. Maybe reduce the size of the water tiles so look like storm water drains with just a trickle of water running down the middle.
