Minor complaint. You're not allowed to over build objects, you have to destroy them first. It would be much nicer to allow it to overbuild.

You're not allowed to over build objects
Please explain what you meant by this in case I barking up the wrong tree.

If I understand it correct .. not allowed to modify over people buildings unless I rebuild it from scratch? I thought by what I read in the licences your allowed to modify them as long as you show credit to where you got them from.

Before this project is released on BaNaNas everyone who helped and provided material will be mentioned in the readme and changelog files, and here on the forum.

In the licence say I can use the sprites I been using, but I always like to also ask permission from the makers as well where ever possible. I sent a message to the makers of friss-stations to ask permission. If like to check go to this forum http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... d#p1161698

For the record .. the buildings I have done to date are as follows.

Station Buildings - these are all from "Platformskjul_III_1", "Sukeva_1", and the "SukevaF_1" files in friss-stations - they have been recoloured, slightly modified and lifted up 3 tiles with brick foundations so it they will fit correctly with platforms.

The 3 larger signal boxes where modified friss-station files "MarkkalaINT_1" - is the top half of the Signal Boxes and the "KarhukangasINT_1" is the bottom part.

The "Other Buildings" are all from the farms in the FIRS Industry sets.

Water Towers and the two smaller Signal Box and Staff Hut are my own design.

The water tanks connected to all the Signal Boxes are from industries in FIRS.

The Thunder Box with the staff hut also part of a building from FIRS.

The Wires and Poles are all from WIRED.

Some people look at sharing their ideas different to me. Anything I have designed here and in other projects I done, I be frilled if others used them in their projects. They can alter the looks if like, as I know my design has still helped them with their project. I think it great every one involved are here not just to make their own projects but to help others do theirs.

All my work is done using Corel Photo-Paint.

If I treading on any ones toes, my apologies as it not intended.

Well fella here is the last issue for the year.

Update 31/12/2015:

Just updated the file to include:

Includes documents to show thanks to those who sources I used.

I added sound affects to the signal boxes .. need to turn on the sound in the "Set parameters" section. .. hope you like.

Added the suggestion that kamnet asked. No need to bulldoze building to rebuild something else on that space.

When bulldoze a object get a small refund as if sold it cheap to some one to dismantle use material elsewhere.

Hope catch up with you all in the New Year.

Happy New Year to all.

Cheers

Sorry, I'll clarify.

Build an object. Now try to build a different object over the top of that. You receive a warning that you can't build there because there's already an object. You have to destroy the first object in order to build the new one.

It would be nicer if you could build the new object and have it automatically destroy the old one.

This is available by setting Action0 for Objects, Property 10 Object Flags, Bit 2 Anything Can Remove (owned land behaviour).

Hi kamnet, was a bit of miss understanding .. no problem.

Can you tell me the command to add so that what you ask will happen?

All my NML code knowledge is very limited. Everything I done to date is copy and paste from other peoples projects and change just a few things till I get it to work for me.

The solution is in my post above. I do not do NML but I assume it must have a way to work with Action0 for Objects.

Hi Wallyweb, yeh .. our messages crossed paths ..I see if I can find the solution.

Here's a question for many .. introduction dates .. at moment all the objects are set to be available from 1860.

I think these could be change, but to what dates?

The Employee Houses could become available when the first locos became available.

The smaller signal Boxes and the single water tower maybe mid 1800s.

The larger signal boxes and twin tower maybe from 1900.

What you all think?

Personally I dislike date restrictions. My preference is to make it available at year 0 and unavailable at year 99,999 and just let the player decide if it's appropriate to build.

Hi kamnet, that not a bad idea, so if I put 0 in the introudiction_date and 99,999 if end_of_life_date that should solve that problem?

I found the command so can build over the top of the objects. OBJ_FLAG_ANYTHING_REMOVE

Also found when bulldoze a building get a refund. OBJ_FLAG_REMOVE_IS_INCOME. cause in the olden days they recycled building material. Usually sold a building to some one to dismantle it and be used to build some thing else, so I intend to add this command too.

Update: Above is the latest Auz_Lineside_Object file that includes suggestions by kamnet. Building become available in 1800.

Maybe good idea if I do one or 2 round tanks .. some people will use them.

If anyone has done some objects for previous projects and like to include them with this are welcome to do so.

Anyone who has never tried to do drawings for OpenTTD:

I've attached to templates for anyone who like to draw some Objects to add to what I doing or can use to start their own project.

These 2 templates has a guide line at the base to help position what ever object you draw.

To give you an idea if like to try drawing some .. also include sprite I just finished of Grenfell Railway Station

Thanks kamnet,

I been wondering how to do the art work for building with weatherboards and your Gin Gin shown me how could be done.

Will add your station to the collection. Might be a good idea if any object is designed from a actual Station, signal box etc, I night as well name them as that too.

I done Grenfell in NSW today ..

If any one has any objects .. not have to be rail related and like it to be made available to use in the games, then send those to me too.

Thanks again

Here's a peak at Grenfell in an attempt to indicate it was a weatherboard building.

What ya all think? Pretty well all stations in NSW where either brick (in major towns) and weatherboard painted yellowy cream colour in smaller towns and in the country.

Compare it with the image above se what ya think is better.

Seemed everything was painted the yellowy cream colour .. they must have train loads of the paint:)

Kamnet .. I've lifted your Gin Gin so that it will line up with platforms. What you think?

The first two directions I drew was the building facing trackside. I needs to be placed back a few more pixels I think, but otherwise the platform is perfect. I'm working on the front-side with the customer entrances now.

I added ramps to Grenfell Station so that the ramp actually starts the downward slope close to the platforms.

Next question is can these station buildings be altered so they are Station non-track tiles, so when joined to a platform they will be come part of that station and increase the range of the station to accept cargos.

At moment they looking great as Objects, but when joined to a platform they take away a square that could have had a building that created passengers and mail.

If anyone out there can help me with the NML codes to change the Station Buildings to become non-track station tiles that be great.

NML doesn't support rail stations at this time. You'll have to jump into good old-fashioned NFO, which is a lot of not-fun.

I think I stick to NML as I have enough problems trying to understand it without trying to understand anything else.

The station buildings will just have to remain as objects.

Maybe someone out there will like to use the station building sprites and add to a station set their building at a later date.
