I haven't found any time between my own uni work to contribute, so I won't interrupt you (not missing much tbh, your additions are spot-on haha). Hopefully I'll have some time to explore grf-making in the future (thanks for posting the tutorials Garry)
That's fair, I'm doing this all between uni work myself. Hopefully you decide to have a go one day :D
H-set/OSCAR: This seems to be missing at the moment.
That's something garry will have to fix, they were there before, but somehow have dissapeared.
V-set: I wonder if the V-set (at least the older liveries) could look better with its gold tinted windows, and so it would be more distinguishable from the other tin cans (as its the same length).
I was originally going to say that might not be doable, but I might look into that tbh.

mxnp wrote: 20 Jun 2021 09:50 I had a quick look to see if I could find any bugs, and here's a list (some that you may already know of):
1. C-set: 'C_Set' minor typo. fIXED
2. H-set/OSCAR: This seems to be missing at the moment. Fixed .. I had wrong year to enter service .. I had 2206 instead of 2106. Keyboard fault .. this keyboard seems to make a lot of typing mistakes. :D
3. 2 car sets: Are these sets supposed to have driving carriages on both ends? At the moment it is a driving car with a trailer. The 600 and 620 have driving car and trailer. Just checking the others .. Endeavour and Hunter has engine both units so see if I can fix. See if I can fix those later in week.
4. V-set: I wonder if the V-set (at least the older liveries) could look better with its gold tinted windows, and so it would be more distinguishable from the other tin cans (as its the same length). Not be easy get a nice colour as the trains are in 8 bit colours and only have access to 256 colours. I've attached the palette if you see a colour you think might work let us know.

I'm going to really miss the V-sets when they finally retire :(
Me too .. they are a nice unit and comfortable with plenty leg room. Nice to nap in and get over carried :D . They say many the steel work underneath is rusting and they not really suitable for disabled people. Heard the replacements will pack us in like sardines.

Cheers pal

AuzTrainsNSW_overhaul

Hi all,

Done a few repairs to the train sets.

As mxnp mentioned.

- C-Set typo: fixed.
- H_Set: been found
- 2 car sets: DMUs with more then 1 power unit now has fumes coming out of all power units (I hope). Also did same to some 900 class DEB Set, XPT and Xplorer. Also the EMUs (they should now spark from all power units).
- V-Set .. unchanged for now.

Also adjusted some power to some DMUs and EMUs. For instance some EMUs and DMUs I had the power for 1 unit. I now increased the power depending on how many power units the set has. Old style EMUs showed power at 200 hp which I had, but the units have 2 power cars so that makes the power 400 hp.

Hope to do some more to the trains during the week.

Enjoy

Hi Garry and team,
I briefly went through the latest release to look for any remaining bugs, and here's what I found:
 1. I noticed that the DMU/EMU power/TE has been fixed, and it seems to be working like it used to again.
 2. > H-set: The 4 car is actually an 8 car (4+4). Also, there is a red pixel on the preview image.
 3. > Coaches: It seems that the livery changes back to the default when added to a locomotive/engine. The process I tried was to buy the coach set first, attach to an engine, and then refit with the new livery (let me know if I'm doing it wrong).
 4. > K-set: The 4 car set has a speed of 128km/h (the rest are 115km/h).
 5. > Xplorer: There's a grey tint on 2 and 3 car sets that doesn't match up with the rest of the train set.
 6. > XPT: Currently seems to be missing the CountryLink livery. Also, the front car is misaligned.
 7. > Silver City Comet: The set also seems to be be misaligned.
 8. > 600 DMU: In the refit menu, Grey livery selects Tuscan Red instead.
 9. > In general: It seems that we cannot mix sets of the same type with different livery variations (e.g. 4 car in SRA + 4 car in CityRail). This doesn't cause any problems with the set at the moment, but I suppose it could be considered as a possible feature (I think Modern UK Trainset has a similar scheme and allows this).
And replying to the V-set windows, it seems like the most appropriate option would be the browns in Row 5 of the palette (first row of 1st Normal section). Other browns are too red or too yellow, and even these shades lack a bit of red unfortunately. It seems to be the closest representation, but I'm not sure if its accurate enough to be an improvement. Anyway, I hope some of this was helpful!

Thanks pal, probably be not much auction from me for a few days. Hope back in time for the weekend.

Until I get chance to check those problems you mentioned, might as well let you and others have what other updates I did last weekend.

Added 4 sets for the Brisbane Limited Expresses .. from 1936, till the 1960s.

In image top one is the 1936 version and middle one is the 1960's version.

Bottom line is a R-Type car SUB Set 100. I did several and a few still to do. Set 100 (in image) is the Southern Highlands Express,101 Picton Train, 102 The Fish, 103 and 104 Tamworth Day Train, 105 and 106 Dubbo Day Train, 108 Caves Express. Set 107 (Federation Express) and 109 (South Coast Daylight) yet to be done.

Could not find the red pixel you mention? Any chance more details where on train it located?
> K-set: The 4 car set has a speed of 128km/h (the rest are 115km/h).
fixed
Coaches: It seems that the livery changes back to the default when added to a locomotive/engine. The process I tried was to buy the coach set first, attach to an engine, and then refit with the new livery (let me know if I'm doing it wrong).
I tested a few and had no problem, but could also be coaches reverting to the date of the loco? Any one else having this problem?
K-set: The 4 car set has a speed of 128km/h (the rest are 115km/h).
Fixed.
Xplorer: There's a grey tint on 2 and 3 car sets that doesn't match up with the rest of the train set.
Fixed
XPT: Currently seems to be missing the CountryLink livery. Also, the front car is misaligned.
Fixed .. hope to eventually do some of the other colour schemes with it.
Silver City Comet: The set also seems to be be misaligned.
Fixed
600 DMU: In the refit menu, Grey livery selects Tuscan Red instead.
Fixed
In general: It seems that we cannot mix sets of the same type with different livery variations (e.g. 4 car in SRA + 4 car in CityRail). This doesn't cause any problems with the set at the moment, but I suppose it could be considered as a possible feature (I think Modern UK Trainset has a similar scheme and allows this).
No idea how to code this .. need to see source of UK set, but that not be needed till I finish the other work to train set.

Hope all working properly now.

Here the update to this set.

This is a fantastic pack, was wondering about the possibility of an "AuzTrainPrototypes", a pack with all the prototype designs of stuff like the Tangaras, V sets, D sets, etc.
Stuff like this,
https://collection.maas.museum/object/358727
this,
https://nswtrains.fandom.com/wiki/NSW_T ... otype1.jpg
maybe these,
https://www.oocities.org/trendy_rechauffe/Tangara.html
VERY much this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a0GBGy ... ocoman3801
and I guess, this:
http://static.domain.com.au/domainblog/ ... ghwgz4.jpg
And how could we forget the prototype V sets that have already been made.

And then again, you have the C set trains, seen as a sort-of prototype for the Tangara. I'd say to give them the Candy livery.
(Although this is quite a big ask, so I understand if you don't want to make these)

Turns out that I was using an outdated version, whoops.

The "?" NR class should be called
"NR Class (Diesel) TraileRail"
The blue one should say
"NR Class (Diesel) Steelink"
And the red one should say
"NR Class (Diesel) The Ghan", have the little symbol say GSR or something.

Hope this helps!

I've got a break from university at the moment so I might contribute some more sprites. I've been working on my own projects, but I reckon I'll be able to smash out some new sprites for Auztrains if you wanna hop back into it :)

I just wanted to put a call out asking if anyone has any good resources on Australian freight rolling stock? Preferably with years, capacities and photos to go alongside it. I'm currently looking for rolling stock to include in my own set, Project Generic Trains, but it could also be of good use for Auztrains :)

My train overhaul been delayed till next year.

I been stuck in Philippines since the Covid-19 pandemic started and looks like I can final return to Australia in January, so to save weight in my luggage I posted my 4 books (as they weight 6 kg total) about NSW diesels and passenger carriages back to Australia and hope they be there waiting for me when I get back.

When I return to Australia be a few weeks or more train riding and photographing to get images of the locos and other railway items that are in use there these days so can add them to the train sets.

So see you here again sometime next year.

Cheers
