I think it's a joke and that Dave is referring to the rainbow trains.

Just leaving this here.

Helm Wind: a kind of IC225-ish thing. 140mph.
Brenner: bendolino crossed with a Eurostar or something. 186mph.

Both have distributed traction: every extra coach adds more HP. Boom boom.

2.0.0-Alpha-4 now on bananas, or http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/iron-horse/releases/

*Changes from 2.0.0 Alpha 3*

- Helm Wind (1987) and Brenner (2017) high speed passenger trains
- distributed traction: all middle cars add power when attached to the correct cab car
- this means that high speed passenger trains always have enough power, whatever the total length

- Railcar changes
- swap the default livery for electric (and electro-diesel railcars), so they're visually distinct from diesel railcars in buy menu
- Pylon and Zeus electric railcars are now electro-diesel
- diamond shaped pantographs for Ares and Athena electric railcars

----

Known issues on the high speed pax trains:
- buy and run costs need more work
- doors don't open on Brenner cab units
- missing buy menu text to explain that middle units add power when attached to the cab unit

They're fast though and look ok so yair, have a go

That reminds me the Eurostars GNER used to operate.
Shame no one wants to use them anymore. Until HS2...

Yeah - I didn't notice it in the game, but it became very obvious when I posted it here.

Assume the luxury coaches are for those willing to pay an extra 6d for a plusher seat?

Such realisms! Porterbrook 66?

Train #6 won't be going anywhere quickly, under-powered ;)

And more leg room and stuff. There's a bit of a payment bonus, but you won't get so many pax per tile :)
