It's time to give this a bump. I've been tinkering with my version of the USSet and have a couple of things integrated. I'm mainly concentrating on replacing identical US liveries with Canadian ones and then I'll work on editing the inaccurate stuff out.

Below is the extent of the Canadian set that's complete right now. Visible in the screenshot below are a CP Rail SD40-2, a CNR SD40-2M (Wide-Nose) and a VIA Rail passenger train with F40's and stainless coaches. And yes, this is an actual screenshot.

I'm glad to see that this hasn't died, but what I really want to see is the Canadian steam.

Canadian Steam you say? How's this? The fact that the GS4 changes livery on freight makes this so much easier :D The passenger cars are swapped with the Daylight and the steam locos below are both CNR Northerns (Called "Confederations"). The streamlined one is a Class U-4-a, one of 10 built and the freight engine is a standard U-3-b Class.

Still more. Here's a pair GO (Government of Ontario) Transit trains. One has just arrived and the other waits for a CNR freight to pass before continuing.

Second pic is of CPR's lightweight "Chinook" speeding through the praries behind an F-2-a Class 4-4-4. Five of these locos (No. 3000-3004) were built to haul these passenger trains. None of these locos survive, although there are 2 of the similar 2900 series left.

Bit more

Here's a shot of a few of the CNR locos I've got in the works. You can see here a pair of new SD75I's and an older SD40-2M on a freight. Another SD40-2M and a few old M636's sit on the storage tracks near the depot. A pair of GP9u's are working some cars in the yard.

We're taking a trip to the easternmost province. Newfoundland had an extensive narrow gauge system that lasted until the late 1980's. Below we see the cross-province 'Caribou' (known affectionately as the "Newfie Bullet") passenger train behind an MLW 4-6-2 Pacific. Passing behind is the next generation of Newfoundland power. A pair of GM NF210's (Mutant Geeps) spliced by a GM G8 are heading up a freight loaded with lumber and goods.

A very preliminary version of the Canadian Set website is here. It's nowhere near done, and I'm hoping to have a nice fancy index page as well. Only about half of the locos are on there, although most of the steam is.

This set has suddenly fallen off the backburner and is burning brightly! Wow, some *very* nice locos there, I really like the look of this set (and I have never been to Canada :P).

Cheers DanMacK, keep up the good work mate! Looking forward to see whats next :]

I hope you soon post your completed sprites to the tracking table. You've posted lots more trains in your screenies than are currently there.

Are you going to basically use the same freight cars from the US set?

Mostly, yes, I'm planning to use the same freight cars as the USSet. There will be some livery variants of course.

The page is being updated constantly. Just depends mainly on my ambition for coding html. :D More sprites will be up once I get home. the full page should be done by the weekend (along with more sprites)

Speaking of modified cars, here are a couple - Canadian National "Maple Leaf" boxcar and a silver "Maple Leaf" Reefer. Also included is a CNR Van (Can't call 'em Cabooses up here)

How about some CNR Zebra Stripe F7's? They need a bit of tweaking, but this gives you a general idea of what I'm aiming for. They're modified from mnorman's from the USSet.
