On the other hand, there's a new developer working on part of the project, he's doing an NFO parser so the GRF Creator will be able to read existing NFO files, and hopefully someday existing GRF files also.

Well, the point is, this will save Owen time since it has to be done, if someone else does it the finished product will get finished faster.

Yes, from my own efforts I found very quickly that not all
grf files were written the same. I wrote a program that
would decifer the nfo file. I was able to even edit various
parts of the nfo file (such as vehicle names, start dates etc)
I posted it last year. No one showed any interest so
I quit working on it. I did start work on a GRF file editor.
The only problem I have so far is I don't understand how to
read the pcx data. I also have to learn more about various
actions such as 2,3 etc. My orginal aim was simply to be
able to quickly edit a file to change a name or such. It has
been quite frustrating. I presently can read a grf file.
I've been thinking about working on it again but hey I can
relate to your efforts I wish you all the good luck you
need so keep up the effort. I know that I have found it
to be rewarding when you suceed.

I never heard of that tool, it would've been helpful. Maybe you could post the code here and it might save Owen some time to combine forces?

I was recently considering trying to do an NFO creator, and would offer to help, except that I do C/C++, not VB[0]. I've got Visual Studio .NET around here somewhere (*rummage, rummage*) but it's not installed yet (Hey, when it costs $16 (yes, sixteen dollars) for a completely legal (albeit non-transferable) version...). I also have Visual C++ 6.0, but that doesn't help for a VB project.
[0] OK, so I know at least 3 flavors of BASIC backwards and forwards; VB can't be /that/ difficult.
@simmer, Owen: Seconded. All in favor ...?

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.
