Here are sprites of the ETR 500(known as Freccia Rossa)

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
I see you have started ToE-Italy without me
This is something I had been planning to start working on some time in the future, but I wasn't sure when I would ever get started. Now that we're here, I will contribute to the development of this set by coding it, and also drawing the occasional train. I already have sprites for an e432 in Castano/Isabella and grey/purple/orange. And sprites for three-phase catenary and an e554
Regarding wagons, I can take care of that as well. The passenger carriages in ToE-Generic can easily be recoloured into various Italian liveries. Freight cars will be provided by my future ToE-Freight Cars set, which will have ECS and FIRS support, and created so that different European trainsets can share the same set of freight cars, instead of having many similar wagons in each set.
Oh and by the way, those sprites could do with a spot of shading

Aren't there some Italian trains in the 2ccSet which you could use?

This is a dream! A coder! *eyes covered with tears in joy*
About the wagons I agree with you, had the same thing in mind. We could recolour the mk2 sprites from the UKRS set of Pikka, he gave me the ok but he wants me to decode the grf and then get the grf. Too bad my Windows is out of service.
Yes Purno, there are Italian trains in your set.
So we could use the Aln 668
The "Settebello"
The ETR 200
The Ale426
The E646

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
I drew the Settebello
And, I was thinking more of recolouring the 2cc set's passenger cars (the new ones drawn by Voyager One) - there are variants for almost every type used in Italy there. Including Eurofima, UIC-X, compartment coaches, etc... BR Mk2 doesn't really fit IMO.
And about the coding, I'm happy to do it; just don't expect much in the next 2 and a half months. After that, however, I have heaps of free time

At this point the really important things that are missing are:
The E464
The Vivalto wagons and driving wagon
The Minuetto
The MDVE wagons
The MDVC driving wagon
The E444R

I agree. And don't worry, I can paint sprites in the mean time. And later on I'm busy as well so..Emperor Jake wrote:I drew the Settebello

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
I can create many of these wagons by recolouring and editing the wagons I already have in ToE-Generic.
Also, you'll be glad to know that I can code driving trailers to work properly, where the train actually appears to move backwards.
And, don't forget about older stuff. It would be great to be able to start from at least 1920, and I would prefer even earlier (such as 1890-ish). There is at least one Italian steamer in the 2cc-set, and my Prussian G10 was also used in Italy.

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
I have this in mind: first trains that were in service during the 70s and up, and trains of today, released in some sort of Alpha. Then maybe(if time allows us) a beta version with older trains.
Corrected verion of the Freccia Rossa. If you give me the wagon sprites you got I will be glad to repaint them. While there's easy stuff that can be done I should do it.

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
Wow! Nice to see some ideas about an Italian set
I'm staying out of this, since my plans are to develop an Italian set of my own from scratch (using original graphics and coding). But that won't happen for at least a few years, since I'm working on the French set now. So, good luck to you guys!
And yes, you definitely do need older rolling stock, since FS were established in 1905...

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
Actually, there is an easier way to recolour 2cc wagons - I can just use TTDViewer to display the sprites in Light Blue company colours to produce the Trenitalia livery and other older ones.
I will make a tracking table soon so that everybody knows what's drawn, what isn't drawn and what will be in the set. It would also help to collect stats, and make sure we don't get duplicate sprites.
There's nothing wrong with focusing on modern stuff first, but I don't see why some early alphas can't contain older trains as well.

Now, a coder... mumble mumble..
The first pendolino train was made by Sanchimaru for Spain set. Maybe You can find it useful. This is the decoration used in Spain:
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=370640#p370640
If You want, You can ask for permission and modify these sprites with the livery used in Italy. Also, I can send You the code used in Spain set.
Sorry if my english is too poor, I want learn it, but it isn't too easy.

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
Thanks, it would be great to recolour some stuff. Also I don't need help with coding, thanks; I'm going to do it all in NML

Who do we ask permission to? Sanchimaru hasn't been visiting these forums in over 2 years...
Anyway, I guess this:
Will be recoloured like this:

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
Well, maquinista gave us permission to use the sprites. He is one of the creators of the Spain set after all.
Anyway, buckethead, did you get the (unfinished) tracking table I sent you?

Yup!
If you don't mind today I'll repaint the Pendolino and add stats to the tracking table.

Re: Italian Train Set [WslowlyIP]
Thanks, it would be a great help if you could find more stats - researching is an equally important part of making a GRF as coding and drawing.

Updated tracking table(placed in first post), not completely, but I added specs for all important trains. I want to colour a bit now.
