~ Research and Development Thread ~

This thread is devoted to research and development of GARS, nightlies may be released here but stables will be put up on my website and possibly in a release thread.

All are welcome to help with the set, currently I need details on South Australian and Queens Land rail stock (locomotives mostly) as detailed specs are hard to find.

Sprite contributions are welcome but be advised not every ones work will go into the set.

Nightly -r06 (6/24/2011)
(37.49 KiB) Downloaded 914 times
Whats New :
*Same as -r05, just fixed a credits error :S
Todo :
> Balance running and purchase costs (i would like some help with this)
> Get max speed and TE for QR locomotives and tilt trains
> Add Aussie style wagons (pax, mails, freight)
> Figure out how to make passenger cars provide extra power for the electric tilt train (IRL each car provides 200HP, so total HP is 200 x number of cars)
> Figure out how to make the first and last passenger cars on the electric tilt train appear with pantographs (coding related, sprites already made)

I've drawn some Australian things for the 2ccSet. However, I'm not sure where DJNekkid keeps the sprites.
Give us a shout if you need the sprites.

Right here
- Hunter Railcar
- OSCar
- NSWGR 422 Class
- QR 2100 Class

And I'm sure Voyager will let you use his AN Class, Prospector, etc

As for the stats, just steal them from the 2cc set

I thank you both for your offers but Im mostly trying to make this set in the scale I currently have it in, I feel 2cc set sprites would look a little big and out of place in my set. If anyone of you would like to adapt the sprites to this sets style I'd be happy.

Also Im pretty sure I've done a QR 2100 Class, infact I did a QR trainset not long ago.

Anyone wanna make a Australian nutrack grf with low, medium, and high speed standard guage, as well as broad and narrow gauge versions?

Is this just for Aussie stuff or New Zealand is also in?

And of course you can use my sprites, I'll even adjust them for this set if I can. :D

I might include New Zealand, but I didn't know that it was even related to Australian rails

I'm more than happy to draw up some VicRail, V/Line Passenger, and Metro trains if this gets off the ground.

Go ahead, I'd love to have some Victorian Railway stuff, though I already have the L Class locomotive.

Restarted work on this set again, this time Im using the 2cc way of showing the location and type of locomotive.
Credits goto the 2cc set for the Australian flag which I've modified to represent the states of Australia (like NSW or victoria)

Heres the sprite sheet and the grf with 6 new, hand drawn locomotives drawn by me, for everyone to check out :3
