SweetHome3d possibilities to create graphics, if any

Post by erdek »

Hi all,
About a month ago I discovered this program and since I don't see any reference about it in the forum I thought I'd open this thread to see what can be done with it.

It is an open source program, free and, above all, very easy to use (at least to a certain extent), but unfortunately the rendering options are limited and I think another program have to be used for that.

So I've been importing the models into Blender. I can’t find very much information about how other creators are using that program. The links in the posts are all broken. If anyone knows of one that works, I'd really appreciate it if you let me know.

For now I have placed the camera as the first option indicated here (https://www.blender3darchitect.com/arch ... hitecture/), and a little later I found this old ottd tutorial which has its own template: https://wiki.openttd.org/en/Archive/Old ... th%20Extra %20Zoom. Saddly, it don't work very well as you can see.

First one is my template attemp and the second with the old one modified a little by me. It's a pity not to be able to make it work. :(. It's just a test and sure there's a lot of things to improve but I think it looks promising.

I think that having a simple and free program to make this kind of graphics can be very good, but I wonder if they will be of good quality and of course the Blender step is a problem. There’s is also a thing with the licenses: in the ofical webpage of the program are Free Art, CC-BY and Plublic Domain elements to dowload and I soppouse they can be mixed together. The final creation if there's any Free Art thing, haves to be Free Art too. If not you can choose. Isn't it?.

Here is the oficial webpage where all the textures and 3d models can be downloaded and the creators and licenses can be consulted http://www.sweethome3d.com/
