Wrong graphics

Post by thagamer »

I am having issues with some of the graphics being either in the wrong places or just wrong in general.

ie. The road build tool has some foundation graphics for buttons and all of my stadiums look like broken rubble...

You'll have to state at least which 32bpp tars you use... given the current unversioned and chaotic scheme being used for the 32bpp replacement it may turn out pretty difficult to do so, though.

I have just started putting all of the tars from the repository in one-by-one. I was under the impression that there was a numbering scheme already in place so that the names (numbers) were'nt being used (or attempted to) by more than one graphic.

As I was extracting the misc sprites tar, I started getting messages that the file already exists and do i want to replace it...

1733_z1.png
1733_z2.png
1734_z0
1735_z0, z1, z2
1736_z0, z1 ,z2
1737_z0

I hit no for all of them.

You should extract only the TAR file with OpenGFX files. The other TAR files (ground tiles, industries, houses...) shouldn't be extracted.

You can fix it removing all PNG and BAT files in the data folder.

I wasn't getting the 32BPP graphics without extracting them.

Also I am a little confused about what you meant by "extracting only the files with OpenGFX files"

I thought ALL of the files needed to be used with Open GFX

Extract only the file OpenGFX.0.1.1.tar

And put he other files TAR files in the data folder without extracting them.

It is almost OK. Now, open the folder OpenGFX.0.1.1, and move their files (opengfx.obg, ogfx1_base.grf, ogfxc_arctic.grf, ogfxe_extra.grf...) to the data directory, with the other TAR files, and restart the game, It should work.

Well...that did nothing.

Now I don't even have any graphics on the main menu screen except water and the menu itself.

When i start a new gme, it is still in the old graphics.

I had a similar issue, I had to extract all the TAR files into the DATA folder. Worked after that...

It's strange, because I only need to extract the OpenGFX TAR file.
