Thinking about it don't fell you have to code all the historic school colour schemes, for a building which should be rare like this one there is less benefit from them... If you want to just code one or two of the colour schemes feel free to.Eek. Lots of new graphics.
Don't expect these to be coded as quickly as the previous ones.

Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
4. Oxbridge-style College
4 orientations
4 colour schemes
Above- and below-snowline graphics
Ground tiles for each terrain.
As with the historic school if you don't feel like coding all these colour variations just pick one or two; i think the limestone-coloured ones would probably be best...
I also realised I am missing the snow-covered graphics for the historic school ground - I'll make these at some point, code them in with some dummy graphics for now!

Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
And some churches...
5. Churches
Countryside and town variants
2 orientations
4 colour schemes
Above- and below-snow line colour schemes
I still need to make the ground tiles for the small (countryside) churches, the large (town) churches should just use the plain concrete ground tile.

Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
Really gorgeous graphics Zephyris. My utmost compliments!
Are your graphics GPL (or CC)? They would also look good in many other sets.

Great stuff Zephyris! I love the university (college), it gives me inspiration of creating my own swedish university

I love the texture put into the roofs and snow of the most recent building/church.tsjook wrote:Really gorgeous graphics Zephyris. My utmost compliments!

Thanks for the kind word guys, It is always nice to feel appreciated
And the ground for the churches...
Sure, why not! CC-BY-NC-SA v3.0 or later and GPL v2 or later and my favourite; just ask me and I'll say yesAre your graphics GPL (or CC)? They would also look good in many other sets.

Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
Do you have a GRF for the set, or a devzone page with nightlies?
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I am not involved in coding at all, I don't think it has a (functional) devzone page but there is a preview grf.

Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I once created a project, but it is empty... (I don't mind, but back then I got never any reply from buttercup on my offer to help coding). I'll still be very happy, if the DevZone could be means to host this project - and may it only be as a repository to host the nfo and images as used in the released versions.Zephyris wrote:I am not involved in coding at all, I don't think it has a (functional) devzone page but there is a preview grf.
[lament about licenses]
IMHO most important though, is to attach an open and free license (best is GPL as it's 100% the same as OpenTTD's) to this newgrf. Only that makes sure that it can survive over the years as others can easily then build on it and possibly fix and enhance it. Currently it has none and no one can even learn from it :S as opposed to e.g. the Swedish houses. They don't really use the DevZone either as a repository, but they make availabe the source of released version according to the GPL - and thus allowed me to understand actually quite some NFO things by their examples and enable me to bring the comic houses into existance this quickly (even though I wrote all of its NFO then myself w/o copying anything from them).
[/lament about licenses]
Last but not least: your graphics are truely stunning!

Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I presume that the GRF you just linked to doesn't have all the newer houses you posted? That's what I was interested in, really.Zephyris wrote:I am not involved in coding at all, I don't think it has a (functional) devzone page but there is a preview grf.
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
Sadly it doesn't, just have to wait for buttercup to have some time!
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I was talking in IRC (#openttdcoop), and I suggested we use the UK Towns Set as a grf in the next game. The only reason we can't is because it needs to be available in BaNaNas. Could you upload it there, even though it is not finished?
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I see, well the preview is fully useable so I'll add it to BaNaNaS. I'm having some problems uploading from home atm, i'll give it another go tomorow at work.
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
Thanks, I hope we can use it. Another question, are there houses for newer ages, such as 2000-2051, or are they the default?
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
The UK town set houses are available for all years so appear right through to the 2050s, in this version the original buildings have largely not been disabled so you get modern skyscrapers in the later years.
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I apologise for not responding to your offer - I really don't like making decisions and so I tend not to say anything at all (a terrible habit, I know). In this case, I didn't want to change the way I went about coding graphics. As selfish as it sounds I prefer working on my own.planetmaker wrote: I once created a project, but it is empty... At the moment, the source .nfo file is a bit messy but when I code all the more recent buildings I will clean it up and will be happy for it to be put on the DevZone.
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
Nothing selfish about this at all! If you work better that way then work that way!As selfish as it sounds I prefer working on my own.
Do you have any comments on license for BaNaNaS? GPL? CC? Something else?
Re: UK Towns Set [Coding in Progress!]
I honestly don't mind. Any version of CC or GPL would be fine.Zephyris wrote:Do you have any comments on license for BaNaNaS? GPL? CC? Something else?
