Waiting suggestions! :D

List of known suggestions:

I'm new here, but I play OpenTTD at least for 1 or so. I noted that OpenTTD Community doesn't have the São Paulo Metro yet, so I decided to start a project to make the 4 models (Mafersa/Budd, Mafersa, Cobrasma, Auston - 1nd in 1999-2000 2nd 2007-2008). But now, I'm really lost, I've been reading this tutorial after some Google queries:
http://wiki.ttdpatch.net/tiki-index.php ... RFTutorial
Is well detailed, but I don't imagine how I start editing PCX's Sprites. What program I need to use to proccess sprites? The Sprites section didn't tell what editor use.

Thanks,
Att. Pedro

In general: the image editing program you like best.

Gimp is a good open-source choice.

The drawing sprites page on the ttdpatch wiki (which you linked to yourself) seems to contain some examples.

Edit: fixed link

Here is a fixed link ------------> drawing sprites

@Yexo, when linking to something, you don't need the quotation marks.

Ok, I undestood now

Newbie question :D...

Until this weekend I'll show a graphics preview for the Metro Trains...

It will appear like this:
http://www.pell.portland.or.us/~efbrazi ... _1974.html

The first Metro Trains Series made by Mafersa-Budd... The problem now is dimensioning the train, I didn't have the precisely dimensions, like Width for eg... I know only the length which is 28 meters.

Thanks...

Hello :)

You can use the sprite templates here for drawing train vehicles. Don't worry too much about the real-world dimensions; draw it at whatever scale looks right. :) The page Yexo linked to is how George draws things, which is... far from typical. :)

You can find lots of example graphics and code by looking at the projects in the openttdcoop repository.
http://dev.openttdcoop.org/

For example trains here: http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/2cc ... se/sprites

Most of the projects are licensed under GPL, so you can use them as a base for your work provided that you comply completely with the terms of the GPL.

cheers,

Andy

Purno's drawing tutorial should also be a good start. I currently don't have a link but it is in Purno's signature, if you look him up in the members list you should be able to find it.

By talking to Owen, but you need to use it for something TT related if you want it to be free. It could take a while before you get one though as he is very busy currently

Hi,

I made my first trial to draw a train in a clear template...

It's very basic, any ideas to improve?

Thanks for the info XeryusTC!

Yes, start a new topic with the title of your GRF set, then post all your drawings and you can get suggestions there. I am not saying you can't do it here, but it is more likely that your GRF set will receive replies on a new topic. (People assume that a topic titled "Where to start? São Paulo Metro Trains" would be you asking for help, and not you making drawings.)

Thanks for the information, I'll open a new topic soon...

EDIT: I find better edit the Topic, and keep this topic for the project info.

Personally I see no need at all to create a new topic. If you're afraid people won't read this one because of the title, edit the first post and change it.

About your sprites: You still miss 3 directions, maybe you can draw those first? After that as FHS suggested try and add some shading so it looks more 3d.

This one is too polluted, I like topics very organized, clear, with a certain purpose.
