German Train Set available???
Hi Guys!
I was just wondering if there is a German Train Set somewhere out here, with ICE 1-3, normal cargo trains and maglev...
Thanks in advance!

Re: German Train Set available???
DBsetXL v0.82 has what you asked for but it only does passenger and mail maglevs with one type of maglev loco.
Re: German Train Set available???
well, that looks great and is more than enough
Just tested it, everything seems to be fine, but the maglev... the transrapid can be bought in the normal electrified railway depot and runs on those railways, maglev railway is not even activated... Any chance to change that??
Thanks, Tim

You have really Transrapid on railways, don't believe you, might you mean ICE? The Transrapid will come on magleve around 2010...Timitry wrote:well, that looks great and is more than enough

Well yeah that's the curious thing, the Transrapid, which came out in 2010, runs on normal railyway, building maglev-railways is not even possible... And i can differ between ICE and Transrapid

Re: German Train Set available???
If you use DBSetXL then you can use maglev........ Whack the year to like 2100 and look.
Re: German Train Set available???
well, thats weird...Timitry wrote:Well yeah that's the curious thing, the Transrapid, which came out in 2010, runs on normal railyway, building maglev-railways is not even possible... And i can differ between ICE and Transrapid
I even tested the "DBSet", to see if you maybe use that instead of the "DBSetXL", because maybe there the maglev runs on regular tracks, but no. I have no clue why it behaves like that for you.
... maybe you have some other GRF activated that disables MagLev completely and changes all MagLev trains to run on normal track?
You could try disabling other grfs one after another and see if your problem is fixed...
Generally, different train sets don't work well combined. You should use only one train set at a time.
Re: German Train Set available???
Hm okay, now it works I did like you told me, deactivated all grfs and then it worked, now i slowly reactivated them and it still does... cool
One more thing... Any chance to get wagons for fuel oil, plastic and crates of lumber onto that set? Would be cool, cause i play with new industries...

Re: German Train Set available???
which newindustries .grf is that? ECS, right?
then go on the same site again and download "DBXL ECS extension (last update on 9-oct-2007)", that's an extension to the DBXL set the author made just recently, to be able to play with the ECS industries and the DB set.
Just use the two .grf files together, and i think the ECS extension grf must be below the DBsetXL grf in the grf selection window. (not sure about that)
PS it should also be below the ECS industries .grfs

Re: German Train Set available???
Well no, im playing with Pikka's Basic Industries... So i think i need Wagons for Plastic + Fuel oil + Crates of Lumber + maybe some more i forgot...
Another thing: I added a bunch of newstations to my newgrfs, but they don't appear ingame, the station-building screen did change as how it should be, just the dropdown-list does not work as there are no entries... -.- Currently i'm trying to activate and deactivate lots of grfs...

Re: German Train Set available???
Dbset ECS-extension works with Pikka's industries too. If you have it loaded like Roujin instructed plastic and fuel oil should be tranportable in tankcars and lumber in low side wagons and gondolas.
Re: German Train Set available???
hm, i'm not so sure about that, but i did another thing, i just put the db-trainset on top of the grfs and also loaded the uk renewal set, i now still have all the german trains and wagons, but i can use them for plastic and the other stuff too
Thanks a lot for all your help

Re: German Train Set available???
Does anybody know if there's a german trainset that works in tropic climate?
I like the tropical climate and I also like german trains, but unfortunately DBset only works in temperate.

Re: German Train Set available???
Only German train set out there is the excellent DBSet(XL).
You could modify it yourself to make it work in other climates, for personal use ofcourse.

That might change in the future due to climatic change. We´ll see.Painy wrote:I like the tropical climate and I also like german trains, but unfortunately DBset only works in temperate.

Re: German Train Set available???
If you refer to global warming, well it may take quite some years for Germany to become tropic.
I don't think OpenTTD players will have the patience to wait so much.

OT: hehe, even we north here haven't had any snow yet.. Although it's highly possible that it will come in few days here...and last to the April. But yes it's cold up here too
@athanasios Global Warming is serious problem to you all, I know. Imagine what could happen, if Estonia would be warm all year long... All tourists that have been avilable thanks to NewIndustries and NewCargo will move away again from your climate and will come here
