Try to make a poll (people to vote if they think trolley is or isn t a good idea) to know if it will have success.
Make a poll is a good idea, but I think that is good to complete the GRF first and distribute it, so I can have a idea if I release the second version, or if I stop developing this GRF.

This is very easy to do, but would be hard to play with as there are no catenary graphics for the u-turn tiles, have a look at my suspended monorail set for the problems you may get...
I have installed your Monorail Set (Looks some futuristic), but it's a bit too modernist for the SP Trolley Bus lines, these trolley bus lines have a tower in each side of the road to support the cables.

But have no problem, if the user want to use the Monorail set, it will be fine, because the city that the bus are installed no need to be EQUAL to São Paulo. I say that the best way is making one that remenbers São Paulo lines to be distributed with the set, like 2cc Train Set and Metro Track Sets.

how I start editing PCX's Sprites. What program I need to use to proccess sprites? The Sprites section didn't tell
Obviously you have already found a programme which suits you; usual programmes are either photoshop or gimp being used, for both are also readily available the colour palettes which (O)TTD(P) uses, I haven't checked so far whether your sprites use it.

Currently we (mostly DJN, but I'll support him as good as I can) are thinking of slowly setting up and preparing for a v2 of the 2cctrainset since the v1 as you know it is a complete mess code-wise in many ways (it's a learning curve ;-) ). Your sprites definitely would be a nice addition to what is already available in the current set. Are your sprites released under GPL v2+?

Keep up your nice work, I'm definitely looking forward to more pixelwork from you :-)
I am actually using Linux, so I use GIMP (The Photoshop runs fine on Wine, but I doesn't like of the Photoshop). I used the template-metro.pcx to put the graphics, and retouched them a bit.

I'll try to improve this draw in the time to make it available to addition in 2cc set v2, my sets can be released for all licenses (I doesn't matter if it's used on other sprites or being altered by other, it's a open release).

Thanks!

I think you misunderstand me, this post shows the tiles that are not used by the catenary. Ie. you can't differentiate between a u-turn piece and a straight piece without using details on the road..

I'm not an expert on Trolley Bus' maybe prppedro will know better, but I would assume that the bus would be able to continue moving for short distances at spots like you've specified. Utilising the tram tack road type Trolley Bus' would be more realistic than using it for trams because of this, I'd like to see a trolley bus.

However one issue would be that a trolley bus requires road and catenary, if you where to code as a tram it would be able to drive on of-road tracks too, so I'd say draw the tram track replacement grf so it looks like roads when off-road, maybe without white lines so that people can tell it's specifically for trolley bus's.

hum...

Let's me see... How about modify the urban road tiles to show trolley lines? May be a good idea, unless the trolley bus runs out of the downtown area.

Modify the tram tracks so you can build the line where you want?

you could use the ground layer to just add some road markings (or similar) to mark where the trolleybuses can go...

I made a trolley catenary GRF some time ago, it works good, I tested with one trolley.

Looks more nice than my first GRF (Budd Mafersa). But this GRF need improvements too, suggestions?

And about the tracks, I'll use tram lines in first release... The colossal404 tracks appears to be a good option, unless the company owner want to use trams. Trolley Bus leaving paved street will be Off-road, how lawton27 has said, like a land hover xD... But seriously, OpenTTD doesn't have a system to put Eletric Buses to run in zones that have only asphalt and catenaries, not in dirty terrain, or un-electrified vias, so we have to convince the user to run trolley only in road in order to have a precisely simulation.

Nice job, this will look nice in ottd, however I think that the black lines around the doors stand out way too much, Id say make them the same colours as the rest of the bus but a darker tone, or make them a lighter tone of grey.

Hum, Really... The black borders are obfuscating the other colors, let's me try other color and I will post the result here...

Tnx...

EDIT: I applied a color that are a bit more darker than windows colors. The bus itself is a bit different too, I made some other corrections. Here is the Alpha 2:

If the doors remain looking strange I'll try to edit again.

I know I have a different drawing style, but I can help you if you want.
But can I get a photo of this trolley in reality? That side on which the doors are.

Hi

Thanks for the help colossal404
I have a trolly bus photo here:
http://users.tt-forums.net/prppedro

Really the windows are not too dark, but I made this just because while working directly on pixels, some differences may appear.

Colossal404, you are being a active colaborator of this project 8).

You're corrected the weirdness of the first trolley bus, I have changed one part of the graphic because the front in original is strange, but all of the rest are really good.

Thanks again, I have saved the bus, now I have to learn how I'll compile GRF's, finding in PikkaWiki I found a easy way, but having linux I can't use NFO Renum, I have to edit NFO entirely by hand.

Sorry, but what reasons are there to not be able to run NFORenum in Linux?
1) The Windows binaries run under Wine
2) The native Linux binaries work fine on the most common architectures

NFO runs fine through Wine? Good info

Since I tested the Wine from the first time, only OpenTTD for Win32 runs good (Ironically it haves a Linux version). If NFO runs fine I'll launch the GRF soon.

About Linux binaries I didn't find... Is it on CVS/SVN?
