Post by Hyronymus »

Here it is, the latest version of my European Roadset. Currently still for DOS, Windows version might be there soon.

Is that a taunt? But for the record: no, not yet. I hope I will have it very soon. I thought of something that could be what I'm doing wrong all the time.

Got 2 questions:
1. How does it do with new barrier crossing?
2. How does it do with roofed lorry bays and bus stations?

1. Which new barriers? Those from MB DBset? I haven't done them, just put a 2 behind newgrf/dbsetgrf in newgrf.cfg.
2. What does the second download look like?

Looks great, only the road where it turns still looks pretty jagged.

Before I might start work on a new version I want your opinion on the texture of the road. If you want to judge it thoroughly you may install the roadset. It has a complete Undo-executable too to return to your original files. Unfortunately, this set is still only for DOS. I won't release a Windows-version before I have sufficient feedback on the road texture. If you (dis)like it, please add a suggestion. Other tips or requests are welcome too. Keep the feedback constructive!

the mid- line should be yellow.

Maybe I should call it a Western-Europe roadset  . I did ask Scandinavian forum members what the road lining looked like and they said it was all white... It is in 90% of Europe so I think I'll keep it that way. No comment on the texture?

I've finished the main set of the European Roadset. What you won't get are the Rob's RV bays. I tried to implement them in the Windows ersion but there is too much working around it. Please read the Readme.txt carefully. Have fun!

It's against my policy to post directly under a post of myself but this is an exception. Later today I will reveil (I always liked drama) the new European Roadset. It is much easier to apply which means I expect an increase in usage. If this doesn't happens then I will not release newer versions. So stay tuned and make sure you notice the new release.

Looks good, but the white colour should be toned a bit I think, it looks like it's been just painted on 1 hour ago :p

Just my two cents :)
