a million to run ... would probably be VERY hard to make it profitable. Tests i did with the TGV duplex made it profitable with about 200k/year in running costs, on a none cargodest game. With cargodest it probably need to be aprox halved...

I could get the Norwegian done by a Norwegian friend of mine, Nekkid :) I would not be able to translate it properly on my own. Now, where and how do I start?

I know you are, but if you request it to be translated, I'm assuming you won't do it yourself

How do I get the:
// ID for generic strings: FF

for Swedish? It's not mentioned, at least not to my understanding, in the instructions

2E (swedish= + 80 = AE...

in other words, replace all strings that are 7F with 2E, and FF with AE

Are there any trainsets with trains faster than 400 mph (besides the 2cc one, of course)? Would the original wagons look strange if attached to the 2cc maglev train?

I think 3 mil a train is good, but perhaps 300-400k to run a year, which would fall to roughly 100k with the last maglev train as the technology gets better.

Is this just discussion or are people actually thinking of designing some maglev trains?

i do actually have drawn one myself once ... it were in reality ment to replace the Chimaera in the OpenGFX, but someone else drew a new one, so my intentions are to use the chimaera sprites i once had... But this is probably for version 2.0, or i can create an "addon" now that i might put in later...

would you guys like this maglev to be a "fixed consist", or a freely buildable length?

ps. even the fixed one can be variable with the refit button (for example, 6 units long or 10 units long)

D'oh! I completely forgot about that (this probably shows how much I play with the 2cc set...). Nevermind that suggestion than, as maglev track is far more expensive as a third rail...

I would rather that you had wagons to choose how long the train was - my stations all conform to the same length and I'd like to maintain that.

i've made it a TL3 train. Can take 288 people in 8 half length wagons, and with an engine on each side. Not completely finished yet, but its close :)

edit:
here you go.
edit2:
removed the .grf, and added it to banananananananananas

Great! I'll test it out later today/tomorrow. How many tiles does the train take up? Would there be any way in lengthening slightly?

Are there any other single maglev trains that could be added? Or wagons?

Chances are that

a) the translation will hit the repository faster
b) improvement proposals by other native speakers are posted,

if you add the translation here instead of hiding development in private mails.

You could, of course, also use our bug tracker: http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/2cctrainset

I'm a bit sad because there is only one train from the factory that is made almost 1/4 or 1/5 of the worlds trains :(
Almost all MU's in xUSSR if not replaced by newer non xUSSR made trains are made in Riga Carriage Works in Latvia.
The only train in 2cc set from this factory is the AR2 railcar (i dont know why it is there because only 2 railcars were built - one for LV, one for LT)
I know it's hard work, but maybe, just maybe you will make some.
Heres a list of most popular EMU's

BUG. I dont know if anybody is reported it yet because I didnt search.
Mk5 passenger cars can be attached to MU's.
Looks quite funny for ICE but with some recolor looks nice for TGV Duplex/Thalys.

I also have 2 qestions:
Q1: Why the DD coaches are as high as normal (for the trains with large, brown bogies)?
Q2: Why the TGV Duplex has Thalys livery?
