Is kind of clearer, but after thinking about it I answered my own question a little:

My concern is that as commercial/ industrial areas won't produce any more passengers they will be neglected by passenger transport, which isn't right...
... except, they will still accept passengers, making them a valid destination which is right (people going to work, shopping etc) but it still wouldn't properly model passengers as there would still be a supply of the same passengers returning from these trips...
... but in the case of TT, which only looks to create an essence of transport not an actual simulation, it only makes sense to transport the original supply of passengers to the destination not those returning from those destinations, unless the whole model is rewritten (and beyond that of the passenger destinations patch I imagine).

So that is definitely clearer, in part because I'm not posting in the small hours of the morning! Your idea is bang on and I just didn't think it through.

So basically I was wrong and generated spam- but I think I can get away with less than 100 posts in almost two years of forum membership!

Also, @Zephyris your town gfx look great and I set would be an excellent addition, imo especially in conjuction with this set. The standardised look of the building would do well recoloured to correspond with the zones so that, to rip off Sim City, the commercial buildings with a mail cargo bias were tinted blue for instance.

I tried to build a little scenario in OTTD to play around with that new grf.

For the editor it would be nice to be able choosing what kind of town you want in a specific location.
I found, when placing a town, the editor in it just selecting one typ (randomly?). Couldn´t figure out how, the settings small, middle, big, City doesn´t seem to have an influence on it. Once set, it always will be a town of that typ on this location, no matter if you delete and refound it (tried at least 10 times!).

Will the in-city-industries just accept goods or will they also produce some? I noted that the wiki doesn´t tell the residential builings also accept food.

It will actually go through them in order. City, Industrial City, Industrial City x2, Small City x3, Industrial town x3, Planned town x2, Village x4 on grass; Industrial City, Small City, Industrial Town, Small City x3, Industrial town x3, Planned town x2, Village x4 in desert or snow.

The industrial town buildings do not produce cargos, but eventually the TaI industry set will put small industries in towns which will.

Fine, so there is some logic behind it :D
After placing 16 towns (on grass), will it repeat the same pattern? Do placed and deleted towns also count (dosn´t look like it)?
The ability to choose it manually if desired would be much more comfortable, if it isn´t to difficult to implement.

I'm pretty sure that cannot be done by the means of newGrf (at least in a non-hacky way).

A hacky way I could imagine would be a parameter, that you can set to 0 (default behavior) or 1 to [# of TaI town types], which will result in all (especially, the next) placed town to be of the chosen type. Maybe it can also be coded so that the parameter will only be effective in the scenario editor (don't know about that), to avoid misuse in automatically generated maps.

<Lakie> Well, they do the same thing but the code is different.

I have found a problem in starting it up in TTDPatch! Is this maybe related announcement about that it maybe be OpenTTD comp. only?
Is anyone had a same problem? When I find some free time I'm happy to provide some feedback and necessary files for solving the problem.
I believe its down to use of properties 21, 22 which are used for long year introduction which TTDPatch doesn't support judging by your post.
I also assume that variable 65 may also be a sticking point in TTDPatch as thats not implemented.

Don't imagine the first (properties) shouldn't be too difficault to support, but var 65 would most likely be a pain add.

Question... Will all towns have the same City Hall?! And can these develop as the town/city populations grows?!

Correction, it appears the database table / configuration was removed.
I doubt anyone tries them anyway, probably able to redirect them to the threads on the forum when I have a moment spare.

Very much looking forward to the variety this will introduce across the board...

Would it perhaps be possible, Pika, to see about borrowing the absolutely beautiful Art Deco buildings from the seemingly-dead North American City Set?

Please download the User Guide found in the second post of the North American City Set thread and read the sections on credits and copyright for information on who to contact for permissions. You will find that PikkaBird was not involved with that set.

I don't think he was saying that, I think he was asking if the graphics from that set could be used in this set. At least, that was my understanding of the post.

I hate this language I speak called English. It would seem that there are several ways to interpreted the intent of a sentence.

This brings up an interesting question for PikkaBird ... Is TAI generic in that it will work with any building set, or must it have it's own buildings?

I realize he did not work on it.

I was inquiring as to whether or not he could contact those who did and request permission to use their art, because it is amazingly good and deserves to get used more often.
