Australian ranch, or Welsh hill farm?
Maybe it could be climate related?

Looks good, although the contrast between the dirt and the clean areas on the roof could have been less visible/weaker on the first pic.

I like it. Looks okay in game (comped). It is tricky with such a large flat space on that big minerals shed, but I think you've made it work.

My only other thought was colour - some of the source photos have blue or light green smelter buildings. I'm thinking about our discussion on how to make industries visually distinctive...

cheers,

Andy

That mineral extractor monster thing is already distinctive enough by its shape and size, the gray works for it just fine.

Outback station (ranch) in tropic, stone hill farm/croft in temperate and arctic?

Hmm, you're a demanding audience. No promises, but I do want to draw an Australian thing with a wind pump and tin sheds, and it might look odd anywhere but tropic, so we might end up with two types of sheep farm.

On the other hand there are 34 industries left to draw - maybe there's a way to make one thing that looks good in all climates...

Don't get me wrong, I am suggesting, not demanding

This gotta be EPIC set for sure, be there climate-related graphics or not ;)

Yeah, I figured that ;)

Moo! Dairy farm attached (photoshop format). This has the cows from ISR in the file, but I haven't done anything with them. They need putting in some cattle pens, or waiting at a field gate or something. I'm not sure.

Partly I don't have much inspiration around animals in the game.
Partly I'm hoping someone volunteers to code custom fields http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=42440 :o

If anyone wants to have a go at doing some sprites for fields/pens with cows, feel free - if we don't like it, trust us we'll be honest  PM me if you want source photos for inspiration (I can't post here for copyright reasons).

cheers,

Andy

Made a page that shows examples of industry graphics all in one place.

http://tt-foundry.com/sets/FIRS/schema/graphics

This page is *not* canonical, there are missing elements from some of the graphics. However it is nice to see progress, and we can turn it into a guide for players when the set is done.

Working on a textile mill. This is the boilerhouse. Some 19th century textile mills had *huge* chimneys.

Great work, all it needs now is a little Fred Dibnah at the top of the chimney on some scaffold...

Will this be a typical Lancashire-style mill?

It's based on Lister Mills, Bradford. So the wrong side of the border for Fred...

Do you have any plans for your wholesale market? Perhaps contact SAC for her Ikea-store-sprites?

...so I've drawn it again. Fortunately this is a really simple building :)
As usual there are various blocks which can be arranged to create different layouts.
