Re: help installing 32 graphics
Which instruction did you follow (link)?
Which files did you download (link)?
Where exactly did you put them (directory / path)?
What values did you exacty change in the cfg?
Did you start OpenTTD _after_ changing the cfg or before?
If the question to the last question is "before": the cfg has only influence upon startup. Changing it while OpenTTD is running has no effect.
Mind also, that not all graphics are 32bpp and OpenTTD 1.0.4 has no "extra-zoom" - but most graphics most often talked about when 32bpp is referred to refer to larger graphics which can only be read by an appropriately patched version of OpenTTD.

blitter = "32bpp-optimized"
sprite_cache_size = 64
and started the game and added in newgrf the 32bit and applied

The config settings are fine.
In what file system folder did you put the downloaded tar files? Depending upon your OS, it needs to be something like described here http://vcs.openttd.org/svn/browser/tags ... e.txt#L249 - the files you downloaded need to go into the data directory which is a direct sub-directory of the directory given in my link (which is the readme )
Also don't expect every sprite to be 32bpp - even if everything works as intended When using OpenTTD 1.0.4 it should work, but many graphics might target the so-called "extra-zoom" patch - binaries to it are linked on the wiki-page you gave.

Re: help installing 32 graphics
have finally got it working now much much better now thanks for your help if possible in future how do i get new 32 bit drawings to add into the game and do they go in the same sprites directory as they are png files or do i need to put them into the data folder where the newgfr files go into ?

Re: help installing 32 graphics
you put the 32bpp tars in the same folder as the (new)grf and base graphics files.

Re: help installing 32 graphics
Hi! I've followed the wiki 32 bit guide, but just very few things got 32bpp graphics in game (some city building, and the roads, and some industries), while i've downloaded the nightly 32 bpp megapack too, and i put it to data folder.

Re: help installing 32 graphics
I see two probable causes for having not so much graphics:
You're using the standard megapack, that contains about 1 third of the graphics that the devpack contains. So you can try the dev pack from Jupix nightly repo (which may contain more problems but for opengfx it works pretty well, and you can help getting more graphics from the dev pack to the standard pack....).
The other thing is that most graphics are available for temperate climate.

Re: help installing 32 graphics
Another possible problem: newgrfs (like the 32bpp extra newgrf you enabled) only work in-game, not in the main menu (unless you load them as static newgrfs, but you can currently only do that via the config file).
Re: help installing 32 graphics
Thanks with dev pack it's better!
Re: help installing 32 graphics
Hello,
i'm new in the openttd world and tried to install the 32bpp graphics. i'm using windows 7
I used this guide to install it: http://wiki.openttd.org/32bpp_Extra_Zoom_Levels
in my game folder\data are the files 32bit-gfx-nightly-megapack-2011-03-12-dev.tar and 32bpp_extra-nightly.tar as well as the extracted opengfx-0.3.2 / opensfx-0.2.3 as folders.
addidional i edited in documents\openttd\openttd.cfg (windows 7) blitter = "32bpp-optimized"
now i start openttd, activate 32bpp_extra.grf file in NewGRF Settings menu, start a new game and see this and dont know how to fix it

Re: help installing 32 graphics
And what do you see? (please upload images to this forum, not a 3rd party file hoster which fails)
Note that there are some graphics which will even with the mega packs remain 8bpp as there are not yet any 32bpp equivalents.

Re: help installing 32 graphics
okay, so this "issue" is as it is because there are some missing 32bpp graphics. so if someone posts a screenshot with 100% 32bpp graphics he installed some more graphics.
thanks !
thanks !
