Perhaps they do... perhaps they do. :)
Perhaps it is 2 in position 0, Perhaps it is 2 in position 0. 8)
How about a text version of the parameters etc. (A manual?) that one can download and take home from the community access center due to the fact that the CAC only offes limited time to access and it would be convenient not to have wait for the next visit to the CAC in order to resolves questionable questions such as I tend to come up with, considering that some of us are temporarily (I hope) internet connection challenged?

Can you not save or print a copy of the wiki page, wallyweb? Try the "printable version" link on the left!

Here are the parameters direct from the NFO file comments;

Code: Select all

    // parameters:
    // 00 = disable features; 0 (+1) = running sounds; 1 (+2) = regearing; 2 (+4) = animations
    // 01 = climate availability; (+1) temp, (+2) arc, (+4) tropic, 7 = all
    // 02 = livery cycle; 0-3, selects livery for player 1
    // 03 = misc details; 0 (+1) = earlier cc boxcars; 1 (+2) = canadian names; 2 (+4) = maglev on monorail; 3 (+8) = finescale track
    // 04 = dynamic engine pool; 0 (+1) = disable "forced grm"; 2 (+4) = force full version
    // 05 = misc details; 0 (+1) = snowplough, 1 (+2) = km/h gearing

Hi Guys, I'm really excited about this set, and that purchase list on the front page has me drooling. Problem is, I'm getting a "Invalid Sprite #4" error message upon startup, so I can't use this set. I'm using the September 13 version. Any help would be much appreciated, as I cannot wait to get my hands on those new beautiful locos.

Thanks!!

More of the error message, please? Those numbers might not mean anything to you, but they mean something to us. Also patch or OTTD version, config, etcetera?

Sorry, I suppose more info would help...

TTD Patch version 2.6
NARSW2.grf Sept 13 version

I have turned off all other GRFs, just to ensure that there are no conflicts

This is the whole message:

Error loading new graphics:
File "newgrf/NARS2W.grf" has invalid sprite #4

There is nothing else, that's the only error message I get

TTDPatch 2.6 has not been released. Unless you are from the future, that cannot be your version. And are you sure that that's all the message says? There are not, for example, two numbers in brackets after "sprite #4"?

In any case, the problem appears to be with a(n OTTD) version check. I suppose I should rethink the order of the checks if they cause problems with older TTDP builds.

Yes, I am from the future...Come with me if you want to live.

Actually, it is TTD Patch 2.6 Alpha 0 r1828, sorry

And no, I checked and rechecked and that is exactly what the error message says in the title screen No numbers in brackets as you say.

Sorry if I'm bugging you about this, I just really want to play with this new set.

Delete ttdpttxt.dat and try again.

I already did that. Unfortunately it ate into my internet access time at the library.

Did you try getting ttdpatch.cfg to re-write itself with all the switches?

In first place I didn't understand how to but it to work, but in some time I short it out!
So in one word that helped! Thanks mate!

Here's a bit of a strange one.
First, my PC is an antique with a Pentium II 300mhz CPU so if you have a very much faster CPU you probably won't notice this, but I'm willing to wager that the issue is still there.
The problem arises when I send a regearable (diesel) passenger train to a depot.
While the train is stopped in the depot the whole program slows to a crawl. This includes dragging windows, trains moving etc.
The problem goes away if I drop the passenger cars from the train.
I suspect that it is the combination of all the passenger car refits and the regearing refits.

Pikka, are there variables that you only use while the trains are in the depot? Variable 60 especially.

Wally, is it when the train is in the depot, or when you are trying to refit the train?

Hey, when I use this along with a few other sets (The Canadian Set or the Spanish Set) it keeps disabling and says
Fatal : Conflicting TrainSet Grf Found (dynamic engine pool)

I was able to use NARS v1.0 with other sets so why cant I use this with others? and will there ever be a fix or is it not possible to fix since NARS v2.0 seams pretty advanced and stuff.

@NekoMaster: Look at parameter 4 on the parameter wiki for the NARS v2.0 set for a solution to your problem.
