Wallyweb: I did have some slowdowns due to bad code during development, but I thought I'd fixed them all. Exactly what locomotive is it that you have the problem with? What game/build are you running?

I made the following text file of the NARS v2.0 parameters for my own use but soon realized that it might be useful for others as well. With PikkaBird's kind permission I post it here. Should you find any errors please let me know.

What are the default values for the parameters (I'm guessing "0 7 0 0 0 0") ?

PikkaBird's wiki does not mention any defaults. My guess would be that the only parameter that must have a value would be the 2nd one for climate usage. That would make 0 the default for all of the other settings. If that is true then in the example you gave all of the zeros after the 7 would be unnecessary.

If the climate parameter is 0 or undefined, the set will be available in arctic only (ie, 0 has the same effect as 2).

I noticed that in sub-tropical, steel coil cars can only transport... water
Is that intended?

Wally, is it when the train is in the depot, or when you are trying to refit the train?
When the train is just sitting in the depot with coaches attached.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

I do have a question though, are all the GP 9s chopped nose?

For players 1-3, locomotives built after 1975. All players have high noses before then, and player 4 (the black livery) gets high noses right through.

Well, I played around with it a bit, and I'm liking it so far  . Just wish we could change the colors the game uses as player colors. (lots of those original colors are too bright IMO)

With regards to replacing vehicles.... it is impossible to replace electric vehicles with newer electric vehicles.... when you set the renewal window to electric vehicles... all you get are the diesel locos and no electrics. but if you switch it to just plain railway you can see the electric vehicles but only replace them with steam vehicles...

any assistance....
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

This is a wonderful new set and I really enjoy using it in my actual game. Thanks to you, PikkaBird and DanMack, for your hard work!

Great set, but there is a bug with the first availlable gondola refitted to coal. When it goes from north east to south west an empty wagon is shown instead of a full one.

Thanks Pikka and Dan, and anyone else who contributed. This set is great!

I've only got as far as 1890, but it's good fun.

There are some industry / cargo oddities. They might be off-topic for this thread and possibly better in the PBI thread (I can move this comment there if necessary), but I haven't seen them until I used NARS. The issue is that I'm using PBI, and the original industries are still present, and there's nothing to carry food (not in NARS or eGRVTS). I've also got factories that claim to accept paper, steel and plastic, but actually accept grain, livestock and steel; also, if I build a PBI industry it stays 'under construction' but accepts cargo fine. None of these are show-stoppers.

I've got a feeling there might be a conflict with Alpine Climate (there aren't many other grfs in use) or it's an OpenTTD nightly problem, but I haven't investigated it further (basically, I'm having fun with my game, and resolving the issue means I'll have to start again). If I can figure it out I'll stick a proper bug report in the appropriate thread.

UPDATE: thanks to Ameecher's tip, I've resolved this - it was a conflict with Alpine Climate.

Meanwhile, back to my moguls.

cheers,

Andy

In my experience the only industry .grfs that work with alpine are the default and MB's industry set which is somewhat outdated.

I've tested - you're right. Apologies for knocking this thread off topic.

Okay, pb7 has been uploaded with fixes for the gondola sprites and the coil car availability. I'm also fairly sure I fixed something else, but I don't remember what it was.
