Truth is that there WERE no tramways between the 1950s and the advent of the 2nd generation. Apart from Blackpool...

At Dave's request for more sprites I'll preview this, Brush Class of 1937 and still in use today in the current Blackpool Transport livery.

note: this isn't finished.

Edit: Just thought I'd add a screenshot of the "Midland Metro" Ansaldo T69 tram.

Come on you lot, discuss this in another thread. Its O/T for the UK Set now...

...which leads me too...

..great work Ameecher! Although they need a bit more texturing. They oook too clean still. Are they prior to weathering or are these finished sprites?

Edit: Lakie, thanks for splitting off the O/T stuff. :)

Thanks, and yeah they are all WIPs, I wanted to see them in game properly to see what needed improving so never fear ;)

Just a vehicle list showing some of the trams:

Ameecher wrote:Oh you're talking about the original supertram livery, I thought you were talking about the new Stagecoach livery. Hmm, now then, do you think the dark band at the bottom is wrong or the main colour is wrong? I'm open to critiscism. ;)
Hence, Sheffield Supertram not Stagecoach Supertram. The current liveries are spot on.

The original one is just too dark altogether in my opinion, the top is too grey and need to be bluer and the bottom is a little bit too dark.

I'll have a look at that AntBUK, thanks :)

Now on to other matters

Following recent discussion about RV IDs and their compatibility with other sets I have toyed with the idea of enlarging this set into the UK Road Vehicle set (UKRVs) which would (probably) use all vehicle slots which would eliminate the need compability and any issues relating to that.

Please post your opinions and vote in the poll. Thanks :)

Gavin

Edit: If it were to be the case that this set became a large UKRV set then the trams will probably released before the others just to keep you lot happy :p

Ive voted for a combined set - BUT, it depends how long it would take to get a full set together. Maybe get on board with the HOVS set as well? :)

I considered this, and I think we started a thread a while ago... It'd incorporate a lot of company liveries on standard artic trailers, like DHL, Eddie Stobart, etc.

Dunno if that's what you're going for.

But that still leaves a LONG gap between the last 1st gen and first 2nd gen.

The last trams may have be in the '60s but the stock would have dated from the '40s, latest the '50s, it's when the trams were introduced, not when they finished that bothers me ;)

Latest the 30s, actually. I don't think any new trams were built in the UK during or after the second world war (although a few may have been rebuilt or modified). Glasgow Coronation trams (1937) would have been some of the last.

There were some built for Blackpool during the late 40's and early 50's but that was it really, Most were just old trams rebuilt as you say Pikka :)

Looking at the sprites just now and comparing them to a number of photos, this one would suggest that I am right, as would this one although maybe a bit bluer is called for.

(Bloody hell Hyde Park looked in 1993!!)

Both still look blue to me and people see colours differently, but your the designer guy and what you say goes, whats available for show so far looks brilliant and I can't wait for the final GRF

Well some of the stuff is going to get a redraw before final release so this will be on the list, thanks for the feedback, and release won't be long after I've drawn all the remaining trams ;)
