:!: :!:

I had a problem with my computer: the hard drive broke down and all data became totally helpless...
That means that I lost all the work I had done (not only for Transport Tycoon)

Since it happened in the time I was away, I had no backup of the files...

Well, just complaining won't help: I'll reinstall the programs these days and dig topics to get back some old files. I hope to be able to get everything running again soon!

Oh dear, well, I do recall asking you to send me interim files so I could back them up for you...

Hah, it happens to all of us, Sanchimaru, don't fret too much about the rest of us. We've all been there.

@Krtaylor, even if he sent you copies, a hell of a lot can happen in the course of a day, or heck, even an hour of solid work. I've tried several backup routines, with varying frequencies of backups. Either way, when a disaster strikes, the s*** has still hit the fan. Even when I have older copies, I'll generally take the chance to re-do it from scratch. Other people might not work the same way, but I surely can't be the only one.

I may be taking this out of context, but this line is excruciatingly annoying when such a disaster has happened. Rubbing salt in wounds, so to speak.

Actualy rubbing salt into wounds prevents infection

However it doesn't prevent computers doing the best to drive you mad.

If you want to have a bomb proof set up then you will just have to dream as IT ISN'T POSSIBLE; after all if it gets sruck by a meteor no backup will help
I maybe old but at least I'm not dead (yet).
OK! I admit it I AM dead (from the neck up)

I just had the oddest of ideas, an SVN repository for graphics and .grf code... Intriguing...

I'm in doubt here if this is sarcasm or not. GRF Crawler anyone?

No, not sarcasm. I was just pondering to myself whether to set up an SVN server on my home server (http://reldred.ath.cx:8080) to deal with backing things up, projects and stuff. I suppose if the idea works well enough for my own uses I could badger someone like Owen or Patchman for some hosting.

Is there any update to this set? I would dearly love to have an iron ore loader/unloader in the Industrial Stations set.

There hopefully will be at some point, Sanchimaru is missing at the moment, I haven't heard back from him in a while.

I'd say just be patient and wait. These projects move allong in their own time...

Phew, this thread has a lot of dust on it! Well, let's have it moving again, the cattle has been waiting long enough:

Currently I am working on the harbor/containter station sprites to addapt them to the industrial renewal tiles. I also fixed some details here and there and added a couple of eye-candy.
Now the distribution of items will change, but here are the sprites for the "Industial stations: Harbor" tag:

The docks and the shipyard are drawn by Lancelot, I don't know if he is around here anymore... to him go the credits for those. All the rest are edited from my previous harbor/container sprites.

Wow nice again! That dock would be very cool!
And little question! I some time ago ask/suggest possibility that train can go under those big container cranes! Is this in to-do list or....?
Edit: Here is the original suggestion!

ISA: thank you a lot! Indeed, your request has been heeded: If you look at the image, you'll realize that there is one version of the cranes (both the big and the smaller ones) that has the 2 platforms so that the train can pass under them 8)
When I saw your suggestion, I began looking for photographic documentation and learned that vessels actually run under them.

And here are the new container platforms and truck parking sprites. I am including here the new harbor picture again because I did a last hour change, only a sprite order re-arrangement.

Woo! I haven't kept track of this thread but what I'm seeing looks very promising.
Does the harbour sprites actually replace the TTD dock and ship depot? That would be so utterly awesome, and blending in with the rest of the harbour enviroment..

Great job, Sanchimaru! :)

Here we go: I have now addapted the sprites I drew for the switchyard. I'm afraid that this will not be compatible with track types other than regular rail looking tracks: monorail, maglev... But since there are fake rails, it wouldn't look fine without them being drawn by default.

Well, someone may say that I could draw monorail and maglev versions too, but it's not going to happen in the near future:
> I think it's better to have a variety of station types at the moment.
> Most sets work with regular rails (now Spain and Japan set use the high-speed track, which looks like regular rails)
> Maglev is ugly
> Yes

Aegir mentioned over there Born Acorn's goods station, I will next check it out and contact him about it

Nice!
And I prefer only regular rails! Maybe a little Monorail too but ....
Keep up your good work!

Hold on a second!

I have contacted Born Acorn, who gently has agreed to let his sprites to be used in this set too!
The first step was to use his buffer stops. Since he has already released a buffers set, I thought that it would be better to use these for more uniformity.

Check them out:
