Pikka, I have a question about a Class 91 train I just spotted on my server. There are two locomotives, and the second one appears to have been graphically over-ridden into something that looks like a Class 20. Is this intentional? If so, what's the story? If not, is it a bug, or is my server just being its weird self? It's OpenTTD 0.6.2.

BTW, a belated happy birthday to version 3!

Bug confirmed, if you dual head 91's the second looks like a class 20, better to push/pull if you want two engines.

He answered you perfectly. The UKRS/PBI has no affiliation to ECS. There is no point asking about any such thing as that is the only answer.

It seems that people playing TTDOpen are not very friendly. I see this here and i saw also that on openttdcoop IRC. The only kind people i saw up to now is Briannetta.

Im not 15 years old like a few nerds of you who look at themselves like center of the universe, but a 51 years-old man who doesnt know much about the world of TTDOpen. I dont feel welcome at all in this world and be sure that im gonna do my best to find by myself answers i need to play.

It was not a pleasure to talk with you guys.

Cya all.

i am sorry if we hurt your feelings, but i really must say
the irc channel #openttdcoop (on the oftc network) is not around to solve your personal openttd issues! and i recall asking you to ask your question in the channel named #openttd (also on the oftc network, which is in fact the official support channel for OpenTTD).

we have never seen you (your nick) in the #openttdcoop channel before. I dont mind helping someone out if he is a regular / known player at #openttdcoop, yet i do refuse to let #openttdcoop become the OpenTTD support channel.

as i have pointed out to you a few times that day

if you feel like reading up on your chat, you can find logs of that day at

And you think we are all self-centred fifteen year olds? Man, you need to chill.

(For the record, i'm 18 and going on a year out to train skills that i hope to use for the benefit of the local community... Self centred?)

That's only because I'm a patient man. When you join any community, on-line or not, you need to learn some of that community's etiquette. You didn't, and as with any community, a breach of etiquette makes you look like the impolite, unfriendly one. Accusing us of being egocentric fifteen year olds doesn't help, either.

Take a breath, read the OpenTTD wiki (and, if you're interested in cooperative play, the OpenTTDcoop wiki) and learn your way around the community. For etiquette on the various IRC chat channels, the best thing to do is settle in at a busy time and read the conversation for ten minutes. That will give you an idea of what kind of conversation is taking place, and what you can expect from it.

Problem is, the Wiki isn't up again yet.
At least, it wasn't last I heard.

Next time try it first before saying this. The wiki has been working again for like 12 hours already.

If you read my post, you'll note that it was last time I checked. I don't habitually check the wiki, and my comp still says it's down. So you'll forgibe me for making that mistake, I'm sure.

I've been trying different train sets these past few months and i must say.... I keep coming back to UKRS :-D

Definitely one of the best sets out there.

Excellent work Pikka :-D
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

UK Renewal Set - I can't get it to work

Post by andrewshimmin »

I can't get the UK Renewal set to appear. I am sure I am being very stupid. When I start a new game, and try to buy new vehicles, I always have the normal inbuilt ones.

I have created a folder "newgrf"

In it is "pb_ukrs.grf" (amongst others)

My TTD Patch config is as follows:

"[ttdxconfig]
roadvehs=off
ships=off
trains=off
planes=off
rvqueueing=1
mammothtrains=0

diskmenu=1
forcerebuildovl=1
win2k=1
newships=on
newtrains=on
newplanes=on
newrvs=on
saveoptionaldata=on
loadallgraphics=off"

My Graphics config is:

"#newgrf/newshipsw.grf
#newgrf/tempsetpw.grf
newgrf/signalsw.grf
newgrf/elrailsw.grf
newgrf/trkfoundw.grf
newgrf/pb_ukrs.grf 0 1 0
#newgrf/pb_viaduct.grf
#newgrf/ukrsap1w.grf 0
newgrf/pikbrikw.grf
newgrf/pikkindw.grf 0"

and my Graphics debug gives (excerpt)
"# UK Renewal Train Set v3.04

Help!

Thanks

I would try to get rid of the quotation marks (") at the beginning and end of the newgrf section:

Code: Select all

[newgrf]
#newgrf/newshipsw.grf
#newgrf/tempsetpw.grf
newgrf/signalsw.grf
newgrf/elrailsw.grf
newgrf/trkfoundw.grf
newgrf/pb_ukrs.grf 0 1 0
#newgrf/pb_viaduct.grf
#newgrf/ukrsap1w.grf 0
newgrf/pikbrikw.grf
newgrf/pikkindw.grf 0
Is how it should look using the grf's you've listed.

On another note, it is important that you place (as far as Im aware) all your .grf files in the data directory within your ottd folder. You do not then need to preface the newgrfs with data/

For example:

Code: Select all

[newgrf]
#newshipsw.grf
#tempsetpw.grf
signalsw.grf
elrailsw.grf
trkfoundw.grf
pb_ukrs.grf 0 1 0
pb_viaduct.grf
ukrsap1w.grf 0
pikbrikw.grf
pikkindw.grf 0
Hope this helps

Title of this topic says '1st of August' - 2006, that is. Could someone add that, in order not to confuse people?

Hello!

Im really like your fabilous trainset!

But when im playing with your graphics in LAN with my girlfriend on the snowy map it does not work.
The Addon pack for version 3.04 works fine - but not the original pack. I have tried running only the original (UK Renewal Set 3.04) but same problem,
doest work alone or with the addon.

Im running latest stable version of OpenTTD 64bit, and my girlfriend the same but 32bits.

Need some help. ?(

Modify the parameterts. Set the second parameter to 3 if you want to use the set in arctic.
So, if you don't want to change any other thing just write this to the parameters:
0 3 0
Don't forget the spacebars between the numbers.
