UK Renewal Set - v3 1st of August 2006

Then don't either:
a) Use the UKRS with anything other than the UKRSI
or
b) Use the UKRSI with anything other than the UKRS.
It might work with other stuff, but why complicate stuff?

Pikkabird, may I ask, what is the point in putting some futuristic locos in?
I'm not critisizing your train set, but I do think there is no point in having those locos.
You can keep them if you like, I am not asking for you to remove them from the set, but I just feel that those slots could be overtaken by a few more realistic Locos, EMUs and DMUs.
Such as:
1. Costar Century ----> BR Class 313/314/315 EMU
2. Wardale 604 ----> Class 50 Diesel Loco
3. Costar Hydra ----> Class 395 EMU
4. Costar Junker ----> Class 317 EMU
5. Brush AL10 ----> Class 90 Electric Loco
6. Wardale 5AT ----> Class 365 EMU
7. Vossloh G1206 ----> Class 12/14 Shunter/Light freight

You're not even posting in the right section anymore.
And I see a great point as to why - to sustain gameplay. You may not go all the way up to 2050, but some of us do.
And the Vossloh G1206 isn't a fictitious locomotive.
It's used at the Channel Tunnel Terminal. It's given the Class 21 title in the UK.

Current UKRS thread is here.
As Dave said, the "point" of putting futuristic locos in was for gameplay. The full span of the game is 1920 to 2050, and I didn't want to make one of those sets that stop halfway. And I especially didn't want to make one of those sets which consists of three locomotives before 1970, and seventy-three almost identical MUs between 1970 and 2000.

Re: UK Renewal Set - v2.3 12th of February / v3 1st of August
I have installed the GRF file in my OpenTTD, but when it generates a map, it doesn't show any of the new industries. Does this only work under TTDPatch, or can it also work with OpenTTD?
Re:
You might as well use the Brush Type 4 for the Class 50, 47 & 50 look quite similar in TTD scale, not to mention the statistics do not differ a awful lot. And why would you need a Class 12/14? The UKRS addon set has a shunter just for your needs! And whats the sense in a class 90 when you got 86/87? The difference is not that huge in TTD. Oh and yay, your selection of EMU's is also quite bad in statistics differences which would actually make them worth including!harrydouthwaite wrote:Pikkabird, may I ask, what is the point in putting some futuristic locos in?

It seems to me your just after locomotives that look nice, or are your favorites not actually considering major gameplay differences.
...and as others have noted, this set is not yours so you don't have the permission to make demands. "You can keep them if you like.."
Re: UK Renewal Set - v2.3 12th of February / v3 1st of August
That was a long time ago Vemarkis.
In response though, the 395 is just as futuristic - more so - than the Vossloh.

Yeah, this is an old thread.
In reply to Buran, who bumped it; the UKRS is a train set, not an industry set. If you're talking about UKRSI or PBI, OTTD doesn't support newindustries yet.

Sorry to bring up this old topic.
I used the paramiter thing to enable the UKRS on Artic and Temperate, but it apears some of the trains are missing.
And the rolling stock is missing too.

Hi,
Is this still the active thread for discussing the UKRS? If not, pointers on where to post would be welcome.
If so, firstly let me say thanks for a great GRF set - I really like the look of the engines, and the ability to start a game so much earlier due to the earlier trains is great.
I've been using this set in some multiplayer games with a friend and had some questions I hope someone can answer.
The running costs for a lot of the engines seems to be quite high and even prohibitive in a lot of cases. Is this intentional? We are playing with "vehicle running costs" set to "medium" so maybe it's our own fault but just curious to get other peoples input. In effect, we find ourselves not using the more sophisticated engines because they're too expensive.
Also, is this bug http://bugs.openttd.org/task/1264 still a problem? We seem to be running into it even with 0.6.0-beta4
Thanks,
-stephen

The bug is still open, so it hasn't been fixed yet (so it'll still be a problem in beta5).smul wrote:Also, is this bug http://bugs.openttd.org/task/1264 still a problem? We seem to be running into it even with 0.6.0-beta4
No-one's more important than the earthworm.

The UKRS/PBI has no association/affiliation with Sand/Glass and the required transportation there of. If you need help with Sand/Glass please see the ECS Thread.

quadat:
Try George's Long Vehicles set. I t can haul anything in the industry set that includes sand, which is the ECS set, also made by George.
look on GRFCrawler for it:
