Still don't see any reason why it shouldn't be able to, I'm quite sure I've seen a container crane of that size before. Unfortunatly, unless we get someone who works with the stuff first-hand, who can tell us what sort of tollerances and sizes these beasts get to in real life, or I can find proof of what I've thought all along, then it doesn't count for muchWhite Rabbit wrote:There's no reason to argue if it's only going to span two tiles. Here is a crane that would do the job with arms extending out over a track at either end while the product is stocked in the area covered between the supports.

NABS release is not far off... Finally implemented most of the core functionality and extra bits and pieces I was postponing the release because of.
Mainly, minimum lifespan for buildings. Tis now implemented.
I may or may not decide to document it at a later date.
I might just decide to go to be now, though, and not tell you all any more .

I am told that this is the topic to discuss (among other) the North American Building Set. Could anybody tell me how to use it exactly (which parameters if they are there, which settings, which OTTD version etc), or where I could find a kind of manual? I've tried to load the grf-file, but only in the Arctic climate I see a few different buildings (I think, I not totally sure they are different from the standard OTTD buildings ...) Or is only an arctic set ?

Bug Report : NABS [beta 23-Dec-2006] crashes the game in OpenTTD nightlies when a station is being built in a temperate game in a town that has NABS houses (as soon as the coverage area of the house reaches a house in question). The problem is with NABS and not the game.... NABS ...
Reason : There are buildings (houses) that copy default house properties of house IDs from the sub-tropical climate. These house IDs accept originally food, but if there aren't any food industries available in the game (like in a temperate climate game) the game crashes, because house property 0F (Good/Food/Fizzy drinks acceptance) was just copied and not re-specified.
Just to make sure I fixed some of them as follows (there are no longer any problems with the copy of NABS I have) :
Code: Select all
9 * 21 00 07 07 01 00 08 2E 09 01 0A 0A FF 13 07 38 19 02 0F 00 1D 04
^^^^^
10 * 6 07 83 01 03 01 01
11 * 7 00 07 01 01 00 0F FE
^^^^^
This should be fixed before the set is released publicly.
Sub tropical? What in hell?
I'll have a look at this during my complete re-code...
I have to implement food acceptance properly anyway for a lot of buildings...

Aye, they're coded as sub-arctic building equivelants, and it works fine in TTDPatch... Generally I'm always tempted to say 'lul fukof ottd noob', but, eh, I'm going for that whole 'civilized behavior' thing.peter1138 wrote:Does it work properly in TTDPatch? If so it's an OpenTTD bug...

I downloaded the NABS but it doesn't replace any buildings. I don't know if there is any incompatibility of this set with others I use; I've attached my newgrfw.cfg and ttdpatch.cfg files.
I am using patch 2.6.1576 but the set also does not work with 2.5b9.
Or is NABS not yet released in its final form? I downloaded it from the link provided in the first post in this thread (Aegir)

The only grf that could interfere with it, ttrs3, I see has been commented out so it may simply be that you should let the game run on for a few years. What year are you at?maartenvanheek wrote:I downloaded the NABS but it doesn't replace any buildings. After you load your game, go into the grf status window and make sure the flag for NABS is green and not red. Also check to make sure there are no conflicts.maartenvanheek wrote:ttrs3 is not used, as you have seen. My game started in 1930, it's now about 1980, temperate climate.

The flag is green and it gives no error reports. The grfdebug.txt from the game I was playing gives
I cheated a game (fund new buildings) and tried several years, I only get 3-4 NABS buildings in the 50s (picture).
Maybe I just have an old/wrong version of it; can you give a link for the latest download (unless it's still aegir.bur.st/...)
