Yeah, Oilpower2 was helpful, it hard when the animated browns look like the nromal ones. Ive replaced the pink with the normal colours.

wallyweb, here the textile mill is where the cotton is spun, and made into textiles. I didn't want to name brand names with the Weaving mill though :p

Water treatment graphics bug

Post by wildcard »

Does anyone else have a problem with the desalination plant . The water tower appears as corrupted graphic , blocky red with a grey surround .
I have tried changing the colour depth down to 16 from 32 . I run TTDX at 800x600 using an ATI Radeon 9600.

/me scratches his head.

How on earth did *that* happen!? AFAICT, there's nothing in the GRF that should cause that, and I'm quite sure it wasn't doing that when I tested it prior to release.

Reported, and fixed in next alpha.

Just realized something, after a cue from Patchman. With the newindustries switch we could also create a 'modern version' of oil wells. These oil wells can then exist longer, at least until 2005 (see America). Perhaps it can be used to completely overwrite the existing oil wells even?

I wanted to do something Locomotion Like, with spaces between the wells themselves, and a few Oil tanks, making it a bit more realistic than now.

The pigs are a little on the large size. Buildings look excellent though.

I guess the brown building is the house. A spooky house though, it has no windows anywhere  . I think the model could use more shading too.

I thought the brown building was a Barn, hence the loft door at the end

Here is what I did so far, but I might change the ground sprite to something more Dirty and keep the grass borders to the borders of the industry.

I think the crankshaft thingy is an oil derrick that drills for oil and if so it appears to be properly placed at ground level. Perhaps it could be a bit taller though.
Which brings up a thought ... Born Acorn, if you are up to doing some time based animations, it would be neet if the oil field started out as all oil derricks drilling for oil, which are replaced after a few years by the "rocking horse" pumps.
I wonder if this could be accomplished as construction phases.

possibly, but I don't want to get too complicated. I was hoping to do animation very similar to the TTD ones, with an odd rock now and then.
