Hello!

Just getting back to Transport Tycoon after some hiatus and I've run into a little bug with the Serbian narrow gauge rail set. My problem is that the Hopper K wagon doesn't accept fruit in TTDP (r2364) in sub-tropical climate. I also checked it with OTTD (r21742) and there it does accept fruit.

In TTDP I checked it both with PBI and original industries, no fruit acceptance in either case. If either the Hopper K or the Boxcar could be made to carry fruit that would be great as in my opinion the Serbian NG set is the best at representing small NG industrial railways. Also this is the only missing cargo currently in sub-tropical as far as I can see.

AFAIK, this set is basically finished and there won't be any further development for the time being. It's not bound to be enhanced or improved or anything. So, what you see is what you get.

Well, I'll check code to see what's wrong. IIRC, all was correct, but it's possible that there are some bugs in code.

Sorry for the bump but it seems I've found the source of the problem.

There seems to be a rather weird conflict between the Serbian NG set and HOVS (pb_hovs.grf) which is a road vehicle set by Pikka. Whenever HOVS is not used the hopper car in your NG set can be refitted to fruit just as intended. But when HOVS is also loaded the hopper car can no longer be refitted to fruit. (It still can be refitted to all the other cargoes correctly.)

I've tested this with PBI v1.5 in TTDP, OTTD trunk and Chill's patchpack, and the same conflict comes up in every version. Probably the problem is with HOVS as the Serbian NG set behaves correctly with tons of other grfs loaded, only HOVS causes it to develop this bug. Can't really imagine how a RV set can break/influence a train set in this way but this seems to be the case.

Hm, there was actually some conflict also with some RV set previously. Unfortunately, I had no time to check error you reported. Does that means that without HOVS set is working correctly?

Yes, it seems so. Now that I've deleted HOVS I can carry every kind of cargo.

Well, time to try to solve problem.

You played with SRS and NG rails on TTD Patch or OTTD? Because set is well tested with TTD Patch. With OTTD is less tested. But in both cases there were no problems.

And which is nature of "doesn't work"?

I can confirm that the Serbian set works fine with NG rails in OpenTTD.

As long as you are using this NG rails GRF. You also you need to set the parameter correctly as described in the readme.

well, it said sebieran rail set was supposed to be used with ngrail.grf and i had narrow gauge rails loaded before Serbian rail set.

Narrow gauge set is very nice and have some locomotives well known in other countries (for example FAUR L45H).
Unfortunately there is a flaw related with outdated ngrailsw.grf (very high maintenance costs).
Is it possible to upgrade this set to modern railsets (nutracks etc)?
Online content would be also appreciated.

I have already done so, but currently only for my own use. It works with Termite or Narrow Gauge Track Types. NuTracks is not currently supported but could easily be added.

I guess I should contact Wile E. Coyote to get permission for a proper release.


Edit: I just tried NuTracks 2 r238 and it now works.
