Been practicing some more with getting the curvature looking better with the fake tracks .. this result to date. A bit of an improvement on previous ones I did above.

Also accepted Ameecher idea of the sleepers looked a bit new before so I darkened the sleepers a bit to see if these better suited.

...and I am still working on making these objects snowy. Let's hope I can draw quicker than Garry can draw new objects!

Things are slow progress with the Fake Sidings at moment .. I suffering from a problem called CantGetMotivateditis at the moment .. in other languages I think could be called Lazy .. I do a bit each day but not as much as I normally would do.

Hope to get motivated soon and get this finished.

Starting to get motivated again with these sidings. This is where I am up to at the moment.

Doing the Rusty Tracks first.

Single and double tracks done for both directions .. the triple tracks at moment only done for the direction shown above.
While I do the other direction with the triple tracks can ask you all a few questions and see what answers I get the next few days.

Before I had 2 different rusty tracks .. question is should I do the other lighter shade of rusty track or maybe adapt to NuTracks very low speed track shading.

This might be more suitable for those who like to make a marshalling yard that is busy.

If any one like to test for them self what I done so far here a copy of the newgrf file.

Since I be making a separate file for fake rolling stock .. I might have room in the fake siding sets for some tracks with overhead wires. But I not sure what the better wires to use .. whether to use the Dutch Catenary or the default ones .. whatcha think?

I will not make the overhead sidings as complicated as what shown above .. I think just a single and double lines should be suitable as I mainly want these to store Fake EMU sets and maybe some carriage sheds.

I see one person likes the twin sidings .. the twin siding set is almost complete, so if like will also finish that set for those who prefer this instead of the se I doing now.

I think I finished the Rusty Tracks in both directions. Here a copy of the newgrf if like to test it for me and see if I missing any formations that you would like created in your sidings and marshalling yards.

If anyone like to have a look at the coding and sprites .. all done in NML .. here is a copy of the source file.

This set was made for the purpose of being able to lay railway lines when making scenarios and in game play.

It helps to form the landscape and foundation work to be carried out where the railway lines are intended to go. In game play they are cheap to build and do not need to pay costs during game for upkeep.

The railway lines can be left in the scenario and replaced when playing game .. they will give a small discount to railway lines laid over top of them.

This set has:

All tracks done in a rusty look.

+ Fake Main Lines
+ Fake Sidings and Marshalling yards - SW-NE Direction .. rusty tracks as if not used or used very little.
+ Fake Sidings and Marshalling Yards - NW-SE Direction .. rusty tracks as if not used or used very little.

Yet to be added:

Fake Passenger Carriages and Freight Wagons.
Infrastructure such as buildings and fake platforms.
Hope also to add overhead wires and fake EMU sets.

Think of making a separate Fake Rail Set for the lighter rusty rails or rails that match the very slow tracks from NuTracks.

This set be Part 1 and include rolling stock for the rusty rails.

Part 2 have different shades for the tops of rails and have its own set of rolling stock similar to the ones in Part 1.

Started to add infrastructure to the Fake Rail Set ..

First on the list is the coal stage.

Coalstage only just been build .. hence why no coal been spilt under it yet.
Hope to make several sets so can have as many lines around the coal stage as you like.

Like to place some water columns between sets of lines too with a de-ashing pit.

When pinching some of the graphics from the Auz_Lineside_Objects noticed a few errors so I updated Auz_Lineside_Objects.

The carparks are included but still have the glitch when expand over more then 4 railway lines. Like to try fix this problem before making the shops.

Wonder if the problem is I overlapping way too many tiles and might be best if I should reduce it down a bit.

Re: overhead wires. I'd use the original. A lot of catenary in yards is of a tram type rather than highspeed tensioned catenary like in the Dutch set. This can them be used with the Dutch set anyway.

Had a go at the default Catenary.

Will need a bit of adjustments and formations so it blend in with normal tracks and wires, but I think it can be done.

Made a boo-boo with the tracks for the EMUs. They would be rusty as EMU sidings and depots be fairly active.

So I changed the top of the rails to match the NuTRacks very slow tracks.

Looking at making some sheds for the storage of EMUs.

Mostly like use some from the Modular Locomotive Sheds by D Erikson?
Think these will look good.

But also like some in ISR and DWE sets too.

Want to use loco sheds from one of these sets so players can use them together.

I not be getting much of these done for a while as I suffering from Shingles and any one who has had them will understand.

Excellent work on the Fake Rail Set. I love everything you create - railroad, depot, stations and much more. Looks pretty cool. I suggest to place this set on the bananas, so that each player can download through the online content game :wink: .

I had another idea for the creation of new objects - this Christmas :) . Here you need help to create winter sprites from Swissfan. But I don't know enough about the climate where you live. Maybe there's no snow. Australia is a large continent with different climatic zones - subequatorial to subtropical and temperate Tasmania. Or have another idea - create objects Christmas without winter sprites. Interested to know your opinion on this issue.

I intend to put on bananas, but first like to add fake rolling stock to it first. I should do that before complete the Fake EMU Sidings and Infrastructure. Let players have the fake rails and rolling stock ASAP, and then the Fake EMU Sidings and Infrastructure can be added to new versions later.

That be a nice idea but not sure what I could add .. love to see the World Airlines Set make a Santa Sleigh that can fly .. use as a aircraft to carry mail.

It does snow in Australia in some places between April and September.

We will wait for further updates to this set. Anyway still a big thank you for developing all of the objects together with a team of other users :)) . With great pleasure I use in game recreation facilities, objects of farms, power lines and much more.

Hi all, been a slow process but have a working sample of the Fake Railway Lines.

Still some work to be done, but the tracks are laid in both directions and fake passenger carriages and freight vehicles been added.

Done 2 coal stages both same direction as this one .. the other one does not have any wagons.

I done some fake shunters both steam and diesel but only for SW to NE direction at moment.

You can see some white pixels each end of a siding .. these are clearance posts .. not sure of other countries, but her is Oz these where located at each end of sidings .. vehicles had to be placed inside these clearance posts. Only done a few sidings so far with clearance posts to see what you think.

If like to test for yourself what I done to date here the newgrf file.

Changed the layout of the coal stage and added water towers.

Coal stage before had 2 roads behind it .. made it a bit difficult designing the yard .. so now it has 1 road in front of it that serves the coal shoots. Now a person can design as many tracks they want on either or both sides of the coal stage.

Added some water towers and de-ashing pit .. but looks like a diesel driver has dumped the sump oil in the pit. Have to get the trainee enginemen to clean it up.

I've completed a full working version of the AuzFakeRailwayLines Version 3.

It has sections for:
AuzFakeRails: Main Lines
Marshalling Yards & Sidings SW-NE
Marshalling Yards & Sidings NW-SE
Freight Wagons SW-NE
Freight Wagons NW-SE
Passenger Carriages SW-NE
Passenger Carriages NW-SE
Infrastructure and Stations

With the Freight Wagons and some shunting engines on single lines .. both steam and diesel included.

In the Infrastructure and Stations are the coal stages and water towers.

The overhead wires been removed for the time being as intend to release Version 3 (copy below) on Bananas later today.

Can be a stand alone building like top left. The truck is from the Auz_Roadside_Objects and Polroads.

Can be extended with a platform as per middle one or with the buildings together and the platform.

Railway line is only in front of the building and platforms. The railway line at back can be added is desired.
