Orange Signal

Post by ttdmaniac »

If you have a lot of very heavy trains onto the same railtrack, sooner or later one of your trains will find a red signal caused by a slower train.
So the very heavy train will stop and will take a lot of time to regain the original speed, jamming the line.

But if behind every normal red signal there is an orange signal that force the train to "slow down" to a % of the maximum speed of the engine itself (for example 50%, or it can be customizable), the line will run smoother.

And in real life (at least in Italy) where are red, orange and green signals with the same behaviour ! :D :D

It has been suggested before, with the usual answer: It's impossible, with impossible meaning "if someone recodes half the game then it might work".

A possible solution is using dedicated tracks for fast and slow trains.
