Minimap routes: switchable legend

Post by Wahazar »

My proposal is to make "show transport routes" legend switchable (on/off) as it is for other maps (industry, cargo etc).
Also different track/road types should have own representation on the map legend
(currently map custom colours doesn't match with fixed legend colours).

Such change would be great for debugging complex network, for example searching this one tiny piece of non-electrified rail blocking all traffic :)

EDIT: sorry, wrong section.

I agree, I am often looking for a long a one piece of non-electrified part of the railroad

I am not sure how much a more detailed minimap would actually help with identifying a single non-electrified tile.

A command, which would dump coordinates, would be more useful for it. This following part is a suggestion... Just

Code: Select all

locate_rail/road/tram_(place in menu order)
, use for example with vanilla rails:

Code: Select all

locate_rail_1
to dump this:

Code: Select all

235_198
236_198
...

By the way, are you sure this belongs in the TTDPatch section?

Lol, have not noticed it, of course it needs to go to OpenTTD section.

EDIT: reported first post in order for some mod to notice it and move it a bit to the correct section.

If a Group Type --> Rail option is added, networks could be sector sensitive & replaced with one button.
Could also list ungrouped rail.

Think nothing of it as my coding ability is nil, broken rail-types can be a bother.
Grouping dynamics offer little difficulty to implement, addressing said problem.
