is this a bug? can't close "new vehicle available" window

you know those popups you get when a new vehicle is available?
well, in the year 1947 ( might be a bit earlier), when the first aircrafts become available I cannot seem to close a popup.
specificly the one with the "Boing M377 stratocruiser"
this is really irritating because I am unable to do anything from that point on.
I tried searching the internet but I can't find anything about this problem.
If anyone has experieced this problem and has found a solution, please help me because I cannot continue the campaign missions because of this without cheating (which nobody likes because its admitting defeat)
